YuJa Engage offers instructors the ability to create and publicly share polls through their institution's Engage platform or QR codes. Please follow the steps below to learn how to create or manage existing polls.
Creating a Graded Poll
Graded Polls can be used to award points based on the correct answer chosen.
- Log in to your YuJa Engage Account
- From the left-hand navigation menu, click on the Create drop-down menu and select Create Poll.
- In the Question Details panel, under Question Type, select the question type you wish to use.
- Multiple Choice: Provide a single correct answer from a list of possible responses.
- Short Answer: Participants can answer in a text box.
- True or False: Ask a simple two-option question.
- Fill in the Blank: Omit one or more words in a statement so users may select an answer to fill in the inserted blanks.
- Clickable Image: Select regions on an image as possible answers.
- Next, for Time Limit, select how long participants have to answer each question. You may choose from predefined limits or set a custom time limit.
- Finally, you can choose to award points based on each correct answer given. Choose from predefined points or set custom points.
- Once satisfied with the Question Details panel, add a title to your poll and type in your question.
- You can upload an image for your question by clicking on the Browse button and uploading an image.
- If you would like to remove the image, select the X icon located towards the top-right of the image.
- Provide possible answers to your question, and select the correct answer.
- You can add or delete answer options for Multiple Choice and Short Answers.
- Click on the Duplicate or Delete buttons in the bottom-right-hand corner to copy or remove the question.
- The Poll Questions panel on the left-hand side will also allow you to copy or remove questions.
- Click + Add Question within the panel to add an additional question.
- From the top of the screen, you may Save your poll as a draft to edit at a later time or click Publish to begin your poll.
Creating a Survey Poll
Survey Polls are non-graded questions that do not have a correct answer to select.
- Log in to your YuJa Engage Account
- From the left-hand navigation menu, click on the Create drop-down menu, and select Create Survey.
- In the Question Details panel, under Question Type, select the question type you wish to use.
- Next, for Time Limit, select how long participants have to answer each question. You may choose from predefined limits or set a custom time limit.
- Once satisfied with the Question Details panel, add a title to your poll and type in your question.
- You can upload an image for your question by clicking on the Browse button and uploading an image.
- If you would like to remove the image, select the X icon located towards the top-right of the image.
- Enter options for participants to choose from. More options can be added by selecting the Add Option button or deleted by clicking on the X icon.

- The Poll Questions panel on the left-hand side will also allow you to copy or remove questions.

Managing Polls
Saved and published polls can be viewed in the Manage Polls tab. From here, polls saved as drafts can be edited and analytics can be viewed for published polls.
- Log in to your YuJa Engage Account
- From the left-side navigation menu, select Polls.
- Here you can search for polls, see the date the polls were created, the title, poll status (Draft or Published), and the number of questions in the poll.
- Under the Action column, drafted polls have several options to choose from:
- Click the Pencil icon to continue editing the poll.
- Click the Trash icon to delete the poll.
- Click the Publish icon to start your poll.
- Analytics for published polls can be viewed by selecting the Eye icon under the Action column.
