How to Use the Advanced Search Console

The Advanced Search Console allows media files to be easily searchable using parameters such as Titles, Folders, Metadata, Comments, and Owners. You may improve your search result by using the And, Or, and Not operators to join the search criteria and create a precise match for the media files you'd like to view. Using the Advanced Search Console 

  1. Navigate to Manage Media at the top of your Video Platform instance.
    Manage media is shown selected on the Video Platform.
  2. Click on the Advanced Search Console icon located within the Search bar.
  3. Select the drop-down menu to add a search parameter.

  4. In the space provided to the right of the selected parameter, enter a specific search criteria. For a complete list of all parameters, please refer to the section on Advanced Search Console Parameters.

  5. Click Add to Query to add additional search criteria using operators.

  6. Select the And, Or, or Not operator to enhance your search result. 
    • And: Searches for media content that includes the first search criteria and all additional criteria with the AND Boolean operator. 
    • Or: Searches for media content that contains the entered search criteria; ignores the AND and any other OR Boolean operator.  
    • Not: Excludes all media content that contains the entered search criteria.

  7. Select the new query's parameter and search criteria. You can repeat steps 5-7 to include four queries in total.

  8. Once satisfied with your queries, click the Search button to locate your media files.

Advanced Search Console Parameters 

The list below details all search parameters the Advanced Search Console offers. 

Parameter Description
Title

Finds media files based on their titles.
After Finds media files after a specified date. 
Before Finds media files before a specified date.
Caption Finds media files based on their caption and specified language.
Channel Finds media files located in a specific channel.
Comment Finds media files based on their comments.
Description Finds media files based on their description.
Folder Finds media files located inside the specified folder. 
Metadata Finds media files based on their specified metadata. 
OCR Finds video files based on indexes. 
Owner Finds media owned by the specified owner.
PID Finds media files based on their unique PID.
Quiz Title Finds media files based on their quiz title.
Tags Finds media files based on their tags.
Transcripts  Finds media files based on their transcript. 
Type Finds media files based on whether they are videos or not.
