Before You Start
Download the YuJa Panorama LMS Accessibility Platform web extension for your browser. Navigate to the Panorama link inside PowerSchool to automatically authenticate your extension to access Panorama's full capabilities. These include:
- Remediating documents outside of Panorama's DocHub.
- Course Accessibility Score banner that launches remediations in one click.
- Icons indicating your accessibility score for individual documents at-a-glance.
Understanding and Accessing Accessibility Reports
Once you have completed a course scan, an Accessibility Icon will appear next to each file in your learning management system.
- The blue circle is for Student View.
- The green hexagon is for accessibility scores greater than 70%.
- The yellow triangle is for accessibility scores between 30% and 70%.
- The red octagon is for accessibility scores less than or equal to 30%.
- The grey prohibition sign is for documents with disabled alternative formats.
- The purple circle is if a document has not been scanned.
Improving the Accessibility Score
Accessibility Reports provide comprehensive insights into specific areas where your documents can be enhanced, offering valuable guidance for improvement.
- In PowerSchool, navigate to your course Materials. Click on the accessibility icon next to the file you want to remediate.

Click Accessibility Report.

Click on the issue you would like to fix. Click the Fix This Document button in the bottom-right corner.

Choose the method with which you'd like to fix the document. In this guide, we will focus on using Guided Remediation.
You can review the accessibility scores or resolve the accessibility issue with:
- Structural Remediation (Add-On Required): provides in-line structural remediation to help fix a wide set of accessibility issues across PDF documents.
- AutoPilot (Add-On Required): Automatically proposes fixes for accessibility issues, which can be applied to your document immediately using the Panorama Remediation Engine.
- Guided Remediation with Assistance (Panorama's Remediation Engine): Manually add fixes for accessibility issues within the report, and then apply those changes to your document.
- Send to YuJa Accessibility Experts: Provides manual steps for updating the original document.
- Replace with Alternative Format: Replace the original document with an Alternative Format generated by Panorama.

Fix the document issue as per the Guided Remediation Instructions. In this case, the fix can be made by adding a title to the document.
- Click Select Fix.

Click Apply 1 Fix to Document. In the case that you want to make several fixes, you can do so all at once.

The file will appear remediated. After the updated processes, click Download File.
- In the bottom-right corner, select Choose File. Click on the file you downloaded in the previous step.
- The file you have chosen will replace the old one.
Understanding Alternative Formats
Panorama offers an array of alternative formats to meet diverse students' needs. Students are able to utilize these formats by default. These formats include:
- Source File: View the document in its original format, suitable for download viewing.
- PDF: View the document in PDF format, suitable for both online and download viewing.
- Text File: View the document in a pure text format without any formatting styles, suitable for both online and download viewing.
- Immersive Reader: Allows for customizations to text preferences, grammar options, and reading preferences while following along with the audio playback.
- Gradient Reader: Enhances visual word recognition when reading by providing a guiding color gradient.
- EPUB: View the document in the eBook format, suitable for any eBook reader application.
- Braille: View the document in the braille grade 2 format, suitable for download viewing (a braille reader is required).
- Audio Podcast: Audio playback for documents, suitable for both online and download listening.
- Enhanced HTML: HTML documents can be displayed in a dedicated tab to customize the appearance of the document using the Website Accessibility tool.
- OCR: Convert images with text into machine-encoded text that can be searched and read by screen readers.
- Language Translation: Translate a document automatically to over 100 languages, which can be downloaded.
- Latex: Convert documents into LaTeX document format.

Math Formats: Convert documents containing math equations into LaTeX, Math Text (i.e. numbers and symbols to words), or MP3 files.
- Math Text: Convert documents into printed English, including numbers and symbols.
- Math Audio: Convert documents to MP3.

MathML: Extract mathematical equations from documents and convert them into HTML files.
