Instructors can use Verity to create a secure, proctored environment for assessments created in third-party assessment tools.
Note: Canvas accounts support Pearson and Aleks as third-party assessment tools. Learn more about Embedding a Proctored Third-Party Assessment in Canvas.
Applying Proctor Settings for a Third-Party Assessment
Before you start, make sure you have created an assessment using a third-party platform.
- Log in to your learning management system and select your course.
- Navigate to Verity.
- In the side navbar, click Proctored Assessments > + Create Assessment.
- Select Create Third-Party Assessment.
- Select the tool you want to use and click Continue.

Enter the Assessment Name, Assessment URL, and Assessment Password, and then click Create.
- Assessment Name: The name of your assessment.
- Assessment URL: The assessment link provided by the third-party platform.

Assessment Password: The password of your assessment.
Note: the password entered here must match the password on the third-party platform.
- In the Setup Proctoring modal, click Next.

Select the proctoring method you want and click Next.
- Automated Proctoring (No Live): No proctors will monitor the test-takers during their assessment.

Live Proctors: Proctors will monitor the test-takers during a scheduled proctoring session.
Note: If you select Live Proctors, you can schedule your live sessions in the next step. - Live Check-In: Proctors can join and view a test-taker's environment when issues are flagged.
- Select the platform you want to use and click Next.
- Automated Proctoring: Offers standard proctoring features through the Verity browser extension. This mode can also be used in the Lockdown App.
- Lockdown App: Offers additional security proctoring features for assessments taken on the Verity Desktop Lockdown App.
- Mobile Lockdown App: Offers standard proctoring features for assessments taken on the Verity Mobile Lockdown App.
- (Optional) To select an existing profile, click Click here to select your profile.
- Select the configurations you want enabled and click Next. Learn more about YuJa Verity's Quiz Restrictions.

(Optional) Assign accommodations for individual test-takers.
- To allow individual test-takers to take the assessment without being proctored, select the check box next to their name, then click Accommodate > Do Not Proctor > Save.
- To allow test-takers to take the assessment with a different set of proctoring configurations, select the check box next to their name, then click Accommodate > Modify Proctoring. Select the profile you want, and click Save.
- Click Next.
- (Optional) To save these settings for future assessments, click Save as Profile, enter a Profile Name, and then click Save Profile.
- Click Confirm.
- Once the assessments are completed, review them by accessing the Verity Results table.
