Verity allows instructors to create and administer proctored assessments to test-takers, thereby safeguarding the integrity of assessments taken in their Learning Management System.
Creating a Verity Proctored Test
Before you enable Verity for your test, please make sure you have created a test in Blackboard Learn Ultra.
- Select the test for which you'd like to enable Verity.
- Click the Gear icon.
- From the right-hand panel, scroll down and click Configure proctoring settings.
- Select Turn on proctoring, then click View YuJa Verity Settings to configure the desired settings for the assessment.
-
Select your desired proctoring method, then click Next to continue. Possible available proctoring methods include:
- Automated Proctoring (Non-Live): Test-takers will not be monitored during their assessment.
- Live Proctors: Proctors will monitor the test-takers during a scheduled proctoring session.
- Live Check-In: Proctors can join and view the test-taker's environment in real-time when issues are flagged.
- Live Check-In with Post-Assessment Review: Includes all features of Live Check-In. In addition, after the assessment, YuJa proctors will review the proctoring session and create additional notes that instructors can review in the Results page for a test-taker's assessment.
-
(Optional) If Live Proctoring is selected, configure your live session and click Next. Fill in the following information for your live assessment:
- Name: Add a name for the session.
- Date and Time: Select the date and time the quiz will be available and when it will end.
- Duration: Select how much time test-takers will have to complete the quiz after they join.
- Capacity: Choose how many test-takers can register for this session.
- Select Proctor: Choose a user in the course with at least instructor-level access to proctor the live quiz. Alternatively, select Proctoring Group if your institution is partnered with Verity’s test-proctoring groups.
- (Optional) Registration Window: Set the date and time for how long the registration period of the session will be.
- (Optional) Proctoring Guidelines: Add a note for the proctor explaining the proctoring details or guidelines.
-
Select the profile you'd like to use and click Next. If you are using a premade profile, continue at step 11. If you have chosen to create your own profile configuration, continue to step 8.
-
Select the platform you'd like to enable and click Next.
- Browser Extension: Offers standard proctoring features through the Verity Browser Extension within compatible browsers.
-
Desktop Lockdown App: Offers additional security features that can be applied to safeguard the integrity of quizzes.
Note: Test-takers on ChromeOS must use a device with a managed guest session.
-
Select which configurations you would like enabled, then click Next to continue. Learn more about Verity's configurations here.
-
(Optional) Set up accommodations to allow specific test-takers to take the assessment without being proctored or with a different proctoring profile.
- Click Next.
- (Optional) If you want to save these proctoring configurations for future assessments, click Save as Profile.
-
Review your settings and click Confirm.
If you created a Live Proctor quiz, test-takers must register for a session. Once quizzes are completed, you can review them by accessing the Verity Results table.
