Integrating YuJa Panorama into D2L Brightspace using LTI 1.3

This document provides instructions on integrating the Panorama Platform into your D2L Learning Management System (LMS). Before proceeding with the steps below, please ensure that you have full access to your D2L Brightspace instance as an admin. If you have questions regarding any steps in this process, please contact your dedicated Account Manager.

Adding YuJa Panorama to D2L Brightspace

The first process in integrating YuJa Panorama is to make the YuJa Panorama LTI link available in your D2L Brightspace instance.

  1. Log in to D2L Brightspace as an admin.
  2. In the top-right corner, click the Gear icon.

  3. Under Organization Related, click Manage Extensibility.

  4. On the top bar, click LTI Advantage.

  5. Click Register Tool.

  6. Under "How would you like to register your tool?", select Standard by clicking the radio button next to it. This will expand the registration form.

  7. Enter YuJa Panorama LTI 1.3 as the name for your tool.
  8. Certain fields will require you to enter your zone URL. Refer to your correct zone URL from the list below:  
    • US Zone: https://panorama-api.yuja.com
    • CAN Zone: https://panorama-api-cz.yuja.com
    • EU Zone: https://panorama-api-ez.yuja.com
    • AUS Zone: https://panorama-api-az.yuja.com

  9. Under domain, enter https://<YOUR_ZONE_URL>/lti/lti-app-1.3-entry

  10. Enter the following URLs for the fields below, and then click Register.
    • Redirect URLs: https://<YOUR_ZONE_URL>/lti/lti-app-1.3-entry
    • OpenID Connect Login URL: https://<YOUR_ZONE_URL>/lti/lti-app-1.3-oidc-initiation
    • Target Link URL: https://<YOUR_ZONE_URL>/lti/lti-app-1.3-entry
    • Keyset URL: https://<YOUR_ZONE_URL>/lti/lti-app-1.3-jwk

  11. Note all the Brightspace Registration Details that come up in the modal. You will need to enter this information in your YuJa Panorama account in the next section of this guide.

  12. Click View Deployments to redirect you to the page for External Learning Tools.

  13. Click New Deployment.

  14. Choose whether or not to toggle on Auto Migrate Links. Enable this option to include legacy LTI links for this tool in course copy and button migration.
  15. Under the Tool drop-down menu, select the LTI tool created earlier: YuJa Panorama LTI 1.3. 
  16. Add a Name for the tool, such as YuJa Panorama.

  17. Under Security Settings, check the following checkboxes:
    • User Information
    • Name
    • First name
    • Middle Name
    • Last Name
    • Email
    • User ID
    • Username
    • Org Defined Id

  18. Under Configuration Settings, check Open as External Resource.

  19. Click Add Org Units to add courses you would like the LTI App to run on.

  20. In the modal that comes up, select courses you would like to add, and click Add.

  21. After you've added all the courses you want, click Create Deployment.

  22. Copy the Deployment ID that comes up in the modal. You will need to enter this information in your YuJa Panorama account in the next section of this guide.

  23. Click View Links.

  24. Click New Link.

  25. Enter a Name for the link such as YuJa Panorama.
  26. Under URL, enter the URL based on your zone.
    • US Zone: https://panorama-api.yuja.com/lti/lti-app-1.3-entry 
    • CAN Zone: https://panorama-api-cz.yuja.com/lti/lti-app-1.3-entry
    • EU Zone: https://panorama-api-ez.yuja.com/lti/lti-app-1.3-entry
    • AUS Zone: https://panorama-api-az.yuja.com/lti/lti-app-1.3-entry
  27. In the Type drop-down menu, select Basic Launch.
  28. Click Save and Close, and then proceed to the next section of this guide.

Configuring YuJa Panorama for D2L Brightspace

Before proceeding with the steps below, you will need to have received an email from your Account Manager asking you to sign up for your YuJa Panorama account. Sign up for your account, and then proceed with the steps below. 

  1. Log in to your YuJa Panorama account.

  2. Click Configuration, and then select Integration Settings.

  3. In the Select Integration drop-down menu, select LTI 1.3.
  4. Enter the information as shown below:
    • Client ID: The client ID that was obtained in step 11 in the previous section of this guide. 
    • Deployment ID: The Deployment ID that was obtained in step 22 in the previous section of this guide.
    • ISS: The Issuer that was obtained in step 11 in the previous section of this guide. 
    • OIDC Endpoint: The OpenID Connect Authentication Endpoint that was obtained in step 11 in the previous section of this guide. 
    • JWKS Endpoint: The Brightspace Keyset URL that was obtained in step 11 in the previous section of this guide.

  5. Click Save Changes.

Adding the YuJa Panorama LTI 1.3 link to the navbar

Proceed with this section of the guide once YuJa Panorama has been successfully added to your D2L Brightspace instance. 

  1. Log in to D2L Brightspace as an admin or instructor and navigate to the course you wish to add the YuJa Panorama LTI link to.
  2. Next, click the click the More actions icon > Edit This Navbar.

  3. Enter a Name for the navbar.
  4. Click Add Links.

  6. In the Name field, enter YuJa Panorama, and then click Insert Quicklink.

  7. Locate and select External Learning Tools from the list of Course Materials.

  8. Use the search bar to search for the YuJa Panorama tool.
  9. Click the tool to add it to your custom link.

  10. Set the Behavior to Same window.

  11. Click Create to add the YuJa Panorama tool to your Navbar.

  12. After the Add Links modal comes up again, click Add.

  13. The YuJa Panorama link should now appear under Links. Click Save and Close to save the link to the navbar.

Creating a role with permissions

YuJa Panorama requires an access token to scan and download files within D2L Brightspace. To allow the access token to function, admins will need to download a list of minimum requirements and upload it to their D2L Brightspace zone. Before you upload the list of minimum requirements, we recommend creating a new role associated with the requirements to avoid affecting other users.

  1. Log in to D2L Brightspace as an admin.
  2. Click the Gear icon.

  3. Under Security, select Roles and Permissions.

  5. Click Start Fresh. (Optional) You can create a copy of an existing role if you'd like.

  6. Fill out the information as shown below.
    • Name: Any identifiable name of your choice.

    • Cascading: Ensure this is checked.

    • Course Access Options
      • Access inactive courses: Ensure this is checked.
      • Access past courses: Ensure this is checked.
      • Access future courses: Ensure this is checked.
      • Sections: Access all course sections
      • Groups: Access all course groups

  7. Click Save.

  8. On the Edit Role Interactions page, check all boxes for Administrator.

  9. Click Save to create the role.

Uploading the list of minimum requirements 

Before proceeding with the steps below, you can access and download the list of minimum requirements from here.

  1. Log in to D2L Brightspace as an admin.
  2. Click the Gear icon.

  3. Under Security, select Roles and Permissions.

  4. Locate the role created in the previous section of this guide and select the drop-down arrow next to the role's name.
  5. Select Import Permissions.

  6. Click Choose File and select the file you downloaded from here. Locate the file on your device and select it to upload.

Registering YuJa Panorama as a D2L Brightspace application 

Register YuJa Panorama as an application in D2L Brightspace to receive an Application ID and Application Key, which will be used when integrating D2L Brightspace with YuJa Panorama.

  1. Log in to D2L Brightspace as an admin.
  2. In the top-right corner, click the Gear icon.
  3. Under Security, select Roles and Permissions.

  4. In the Role List, click Administrator.

  5. In the Filter by Tool drop-down menu, select Content, and click Apply Filter.
  6. In the top row, check Organization, Course Template, Course Offering, Group, Semester, Section, and Department.
  7. Click Save.

  8. Repeat steps 5-7 by entering Course Builder, Course Management Console, and External Learning Tools in the Filter by Tool drop-down menu.
  9. Next, click the Gear icon in the top-right corner.
  10. Under Organization Related, click Manage Extensibility.

  11. Ensure the ID Key Authentication tab is selected and click Register an App.

  12. Enter a name for the Application Name, such as YuJa Panorama.
  13. For Trusted URL, copy and paste the correct URL based on your zone:
    • US Zone: https://panorama-api.yuja.com/d2l-auth 
    • CAN Zone: https://panorama-api-cz.yuja.com/d2l-auth 
    • EU Zone: https://panorama-api-ez.yuja.com/d2l-auth 
    • AUS Zone: https://panorama-api-az.yuja.com/d2l-auth
  14. Check Enable this application and I accept the API Developer Agreement.
  15. Click Register Application.

  16. After registering the YuJa Panorama application, you will be redirected to the newly created application. Note down the Application ID and Application Key, as they will be needed in the next section of this guide.

Integrating D2L Brightspace with YuJa Panorama

After noting down your Application ID and Application Key from the previous section, the final process is to establish a connection between your D2L Brightspace instance and YuJa Panorama so that YuJa Panorama can retrieve data. 

  1. Log in to your YuJa Panorama account.

  2. Click Configuration, and then select Integration Settings.

  3. Under the Select Integration drop-down menu, select LMS API.

  4. Click Add Access Key.

  5. Paste in the Application ID and Application Key obtained in step 16 of Registering YuJa Panorama as a D2L Brightspace application.
  6. Click Authenticate With Application.
     
     
  7. A new tab will open with your JSON response. Copy the response and paste it into the text field for Application Authentication JSON Response.

  8. Click Add Access Key.

  9. Click Save Changes. YuJa Panorama will now be able to retrieve information from your D2L Brightspace instance. To allow YuJa Panorama's content to be displayed inside D2L Brightspace, such as the Alternative Formats menu and the Accessibility Report, you will need to install the YuJa Panorama D2L Brightspace Visualizer.
