Auto-captioning creates a word-by-word searchable transcript of your media. While the Video Platform offers excellent quality auto-captioning, external human captioning services are also available for increased accuracy.
Requesting Auto-Captioning
- Log in to the Video Platform and navigate to your Media Collection by clicking Manage Media from the top of the webpage.
- From your Media Collection, hover over a media thumbnail and select More... to open up the Media Details panel.
- Click the Accessibility tab from the left-hand menu.
- Click Auto Caption.
- Select the desired language from the Caption language drop-down menu.
- After making a selection, click Send Caption Request.
Captioning During Upload
You can request auto-captioning for uploaded content during the file upload process if allowed by the organization.
- Log in to the Video Platform and navigate to your Media Collection by clicking Manage Media from the top of the webpage.
- Select Upload from the Media Collection toolbar.
- Click Manage Captions.
- From the Select Captioning Method drop-down menu, select Auto Caption.
- Select your desired language from the Language drop-down menu.
- Enter any additional words to improve the quality of the auto-captioning by entering the word in the Auto-captioning Dictionary blank. To learn more about using the Dictionary, click here.
- Click Save to save your captioning selections.
- Click Browse to select the video to be uploaded.
Check the status of auto-captioning by going to the Media Details panel. When captioning is complete and available, information about the video will be included under Caption Status on the General Media Details page.
