You can use Software Capture for PC to begin recording any screen, application or select area on your PC device.
Before You Start
Ensure you have installed Software Capture on your Windows device.
Launching Software Capture
- Log in to Lumina.
- Click Create Recording.
- Select Software Capture.
- Click Launch Application.
Starting your Software Capture Recording
Once Software Capture launches, you can adjust its settings before starting a recording.
- Open Software Capture.
- Enter a title for your recording.

In the side menu, adjust the settings:
- Video: Select your preferred video sources and adjust your resolution and video orientation.
- Audio: Select your preferred audio sources and adjust the audio gain and offset.
- Screen: Select your preferred display sources.
- Live: Enable live recording to stream and save content in your Lumina channel.
- Profile: Select your preferred recording profile.
- Session Settings: Join an existing distributed recording or host a recording for others to participate in.
- Select the Channels button to publish the recording to a channel on Lumina.
Note: Live streams must be published to a channel. - Select the My Media Collections button to save the recording to a personal location in Lumina.
- To begin your recording, click Start.
- To pause your recording, click Pause.
Note: The recording will continue, but that section will be removed from the final version. - To end your recording, click Finish.
- Click Save to publish the recording into your My Media library.
- (Optional) If you selected a channel to publish your recording, select Publish. This will automatically save your recording both to the selected channel and your My Media Library.
When you click Start, recording will begin after a three-second countdown. Use this time to bring up any files or presentation material you want to display. Once the recording begins, speak clearly and naturally.
Using the Recording Toolbar
The Recording Toolbar provides easy access to the commonly used Software Capture actions below:
- Pause: Pause the recording.
- Play: Play or resume recording.
- Stop: Stop the recording.
- Microphone: Switch the displayed audio source.
- Annotation Toolbar: Annotate the screen during recording.
- Preview: View a preview of the video source.
- Click and Drag: Click and drag the Recording Toolbar to any area on the screen.
