Initiating Scans on EqualGround

If you didn't set scheduled scans when adding your websites to EqualGround or would simply like to start a scan immediately, you can do so for an entire website, a specific page group, or an individual web page. Please ensure you're an admin or part of a team with manage access, and then follow the relevant section below to learn how.

Scanning a Website

  1. Log in to the EqualGround platform and select Websites from the left-side menu.
    The Websites tab is the first tab in the left-side navbar.
  2. Click the Actions menu for the desired website and select Scan.
    Note: If the website status is "Not Configured," you will need to click the Configure option in the Actions menu and set up the website for scanning. 
    Tip: You can click Bulk Actions and select multiple websites to scan at the same time. 
    The Actions menu is inside a table row for the website.
  3. The Scan Website modal will open and confirm if your website(s) are ready for scanning. Please resolve any issues for websites that cannot be scanned yet before proceeding to the next step. If you choose to continue without addressing any issues that have appeared, only websites that are ready for scanning will be scanned. 
  4. (Optional) Toggle the option within Websites Ready to Scan to locate and scan any new web pages added to your website since the last scan.
  5. Click Scan to complete the process. You can navigate away from the scan while it's in progress.
    Note: If you want to stop the scan, go back to the Websites page and click Stop Scan from the Actions menu.
    The Toggle button is shown enabled under Websites Read to Scan.

 

Scanning a Page Group

EqualGround automatically sets up a default page group for all your websites, which you can scan. If you'd like to create custom page groups to scan, visit our guide on Creating a Page Group.

  1. Log in to the EqualGround platform and select Websites from the left-side menu.
    The Websites tab is the first tab in the left-side navbar.
  2. Click on the desired website.
    Note: If the website status is "Not Configured," you will need to click the Configure option in the Actions menu and set up the website for scanning.

  3. Click Configuration > Page Group.
  4. Click the Actions menu for the desired page group and select Scan Now.
    Tip: You can click Bulk Actions and select multiple page groups to scan at the same time.
    The Configuration and Page group tabs are selected. The Actions menu is located inside a table row for a page group.
  5. In the confirmation modal, click Scan Now to complete the process. You can navigate away from the scan while it's in progress.
    Tip: You can schedule a scan by simply clicking on a page group to access its Customize Scan panel.

Scanning a Web Page 

  1. Log in to the EqualGround platform and select Websites from the left-side menu.
    The Websites tab is the first tab in the left-side navbar.
  2. Click on the website that contains the desired web page.
    Note: If the website status is "Not Configured," you will need to click the Configure option in the Actions menu and set up the website for scanning.

  3. On the Web Page tab, click on the web page you'd like to scan.

  4. Select the Actions tab. 
  5. Click Scan. 
    The actions tab is selected and shows a Scan button next to Scan Web page.
  6. In the confirmation modal, click Scan to complete the process. You can navigate away from the scan while it's in progress.
