Verity ensures the integrity of assessments taken from remote locations through the use of advanced proctor settings instructors or assessment administrators can enable. The table below lists all proctor settings available for use.
Some proctor settings, if enabled, contain Strict Mode, which will prevent students from continuing their assessment or allow you to add exceptions to the setting. Additionally, some settings are only available if instructors or assessment administrators require the assessment to be taken inside the Lockdown App.
Record the students' remote environment through their webcam.
Strict Mode: Students will be unable to continue their assessment if their webcam disconnects during the session.
Record the students' audio through their connected microphone, and any loud audio disturbances, such as speaking, will be flagged.
Strict Mode: Students will be unable to continue their assessment if their recording device disconnects during the session.
Record the students' entire screen during the assessment.
|Students will be required to provide a 360-degree view of their testing environment which assessment administrators can review afterward.
|Websites will be recorded when accessed through the browser with the Verity extension installed.
|Record Keyboard (Lockdown App only)
|Records all keyboard inputs during the assessment. If enabled, custom keyboard shortcuts can be disabled.
|Record Clipboard (Lockdown App only)
|Records items copied to the clipboard.
|Disable New Tabs
|Once the assessment starts, opening new tabs will be prohibited. However, a list of approved URLs can be set up to grant access to certain websites.
|Close Open Tabs
|Once the assessment starts, all opened tabs will close. However, a list of approved URLs can be set up to grant access to certain websites.
|Clipboard functionality is disabled, and any copy or paste attempts are flagged.
|Disable File Download
|Students will be unable to download files and images.
|The browser's spellcheck functionality will be disabled.
|Only One Screen
Students can only have one monitor connected.
Strict Mode: Students will be unable to continue their assessment if a secondary monitor has been connected.
|Block Virtual Machines (Lockdown App only)
|Students will be unable to take their assessment inside a virtual machine.
|Block Virtual Applications (Lockdown App only)
|Specified desktop applications can be blocked from running.
|Hide Other Window (Lockdown App only)
|Students will only be able to view the Lockdown App on their devices. All other applications will be hidden from view.
|Students will be required to take a photo of their ID and face for AI facial verification.
|The Verity Recording Panel offers students a preview of their webcam and access to the YuJa Help Center during their assessment.
|The Recording Panel will offer students a scientific calculator.
