Once an instructor has created a Verity-enabled third-party assessment, you can access the proctored assessment from your Learning Management System (LMS) easily.
Accessing a Third-Party Assessment with Verity Browser Extension
Before accessing the third-party assessment in Verity, make sure you have downloaded the Verity Browser Extension and are authenticated on Verity.
- Log in to your LMS through a supported browser, and click the Verity link located within your course.
Note: If you cannot find the Verity LTI link, please reach out to your instructor. - Within the Assessment Hub, locate your desired third-party assessment and click Start.
Note: Click Reattempt instead if you are retaking a third-party assessment. - Click Start Assessment in the Start Proctored Assessment window.
- Within the Proctoring Readiness Check, read over the Privacy and Academic Integrity Agreement, then check I understand the information provided above.
- Click Next.
- Certain restrictions will be applied to your proctored assessment. Resolve any outstanding requirements and click Next.
- You might be required to set up your camera and microphone. Select your Video Source and Audio Source from the drop-down menu, then click Confirm.
- Next, if screen sharing is enabled, select the screen on which you will be taking your assessment.
- Toggle on Also share system audio.
- Then click Share.
- Click Next.
- If ID Verification is enabled, hold up your institution or government-issued ID card to the webcam, click Take Photo, and then click Next.
- To complete the face verification, position your face to the webcam, click Take Photo, and then click Next.
- If you're satisfied with your photos, click Upload.
- Click Next.
- Certain limits will be applied to your proctored assessment. Resolve any outstanding requirements and click Next.
- Click Start Assessment to start your proctored assessment.
- (Optional) If your assessment requires a password, click Input Password in the Verity Recording Panel to allow Verity to automatically enter your password.
Note: If the password was not automatically entered, right-click the Password field and click Input Password to auto-fill your password.
After completing the proctored assessment, you have to end the Verity proctoring session to stop Verity from proctoring. Learn more about ending the Verity proctoring session for your assessment.
Accessing a Third-Party Assessment with the Desktop Lockdown App
Before accessing the third-party assessment in Verity, make sure you have downloaded the Verity Lockdown App.
- Launch the Desktop Lockdown App on your device.
- Log in to your LMS, and click the Verity link located within your course.
Note: If you cannot find the Verity LTI link, please reach out to your instructor. - Within the Assessment Hub, locate your desired third-party assessment and click Start.
