Integrating the YuJa Engage Platform for Blackboard Learn LTI 1.3

Admins can integrate the YuJa Engage Platform into their Blackboard Learning Management System (LMS). The integration will allow polls to be created and published directly to desired courses and viewed by admins, instructors, and students. If you have any questions regarding the steps in this process, please contact your dedicated Customer Success Manager.

Integrating YuJa Engage for LTI 1.3

Before starting the steps below, please ensure that you have received the Client ID from your Customer Success Manager.

  1. Log in to Blackboard Learn as an Admin and click System Admin, located at the top of the page.
  2. Under the Integrations panel, click LTI Tool Providers.

  3. Click Register LTI 1.3/Advantage Tool.

  4. Paste the Client ID provided to you by your Customer Success Manager in the Client ID field.
  5. Click Submit.
    The Client ID field is highlighted along with the Submit button.
  6. The fields will automatically populate. The Tool Redirect URL will be required for future steps; copy or make note of the URL.
  7. Next, click Submit.

  8. You will be redirected to the LTI Tool Providers list where you can locate the newly added Engage tool. Click on the drop-down arrow.
  9. From the menu, select Manage Placements.

  10. Click Create Placement. The page features a list of placements. At the top Create PLacement is highlighted.
  11. Enter the information as follows and then click Submit.
    In creating a palcement, there is a Lable, Handle, Availability, Type, and Target Link URL which are required to be filled out.
    • Label: Any name of your choice (e.g. YuJa Engage).
    • Handle: Any name of your choice (e.g. YuJa Engage).
    • Availability: Yes.
    • Type: Course content tool.
      • Allow grading. 
    • Target Link URL: Enter the Tool Redirect URL noted earlier. 
  12. Click Create Placement once more.
    The page features a list of placements. At the top Create PLacement is highlighted.
  13. Enter the information as follows and then click Submit to complete the integration process.

      • Allow student access.
    • Target Link URL: Enter the Tool Redirect URL noted earlier. 

Adding the YuJa Engage LTI Link to a Course

The following steps will allow you to add the YuJa Engage LTI link in your course navigation menu.

  1. Navigate to a course and turn Edit Mode ON.
  2. Click the Plus (+) icon located in the course navigation menu and then click Course Link.

  3. Click Browse in the Add Course Link window.

  4. Locate and click on the YuJa Engage LTI link from the list of tools.

  5. Check Available to Users and then click Submit to add the LTI link to the course.
