You may be required to record your screen when taking a proctored assessment through the Verity browser extension or the Verity Lockdown app. Follow the steps below to configure the screen recording permissions in your Apple devices before starting a proctored assessment.
Setting Up Screen Recording Permissions for Verity Browser Extension
If you are using the Verity browser extension to take an assessment, you have to grant screen recording permission to your web browser on your Apple device.
- On your Apple device, click on the Apple icon in the top-left corner of your desktop and select System Settings.
- Click Privacy & Security from the side panel > Screen & System Audio Recording.
Note: On certain Mac versions, the menu item Screen Recording is displayed instead of Screen & System Audio Recording. - Under Screen & System Audio Recording, click the Plus (+) icon to add application(s) to the Screen & System Audio Recording list.
Note: Adding the application to the list will allow it to record the contents of your screen. - Select the browser you will use for taking the assessments, then click Open to add it to the Screen & System Audio Recording list.
Setting Up Screen Recording Permissions for Verity Lockdown App
If you are using the Verity browser extension to take an assessment, you have to grant screen recording permission to both your web browser and the Verity Lockdown App on your Apple device.
- On your Apple device, click on the Apple icon in the top-left corner of your desktop and select System Settings.
- Click Privacy & Security from the side panel > Screen & System Audio Recording.
