Once you're ready to begin your proctored assessment, you will need to access your Learning Management System (LMS)—Blackboard, Canvas, D2L Brightspace, or Moodle—through the Verity Lockdown App or one of the following browsers supported by Verity: Google Chrome, Opera, Microsoft Edge, or Brave. For the most reliable proctoring session, we recommend using the Verity Lockdown App or Google Chrome.
Accessing a Proctored Assessment
- Log in to your LMS through a supported browser, and click the Verity link located within your course to authenticate yourself. Note: If you cannot find the Verity LTI link, please reach out to your instructor.
- Once authenticated, you locate the assessment in the Assessment Hub and click Start, or navigate to the location within your LMS where the assessment is located and begin.
- Once your assessment has been selected, you will need to check the Privacy and Academic Integrity Agreement. Read over the agreement and check, I understand the information provided above.
- Click Next.
- If general restrictions are enabled, they will now be applied. Please resolve any outstanding requirements and click Next.
- If required, You will need to select your camera and microphone. Use the drop-down menus to make your selections, and then click Confirm.
- Next, if screen sharing is enabled, select the screen on which you will be taking your assessment.
- Toggle on Also share system audio.
- Then click Share.
- Click Next.
- If ID Verification is enabled, you will need to hold up your institution or government-issued ID card to the webcam, click Take Photo, and then click Next.
- You will then need to position the front of your face to the webcam, click Take Photo, and then click Next.
- If you're satisfied with your photos, click Upload.
- Click Next.
- If applied restrictions are enabled, they will now be applied. Please resolve any outstanding requirements and click Next
- You're all set! Click Begin Assessment to start your online proctor session.
Ending Your Verity Proctored Assessment
Follow the steps below once you're ready to end your proctor session.
