This document provides instructions on how the YuJa Enterprise Video Platform (EVP) can be integrated into Canvas LTI 1.3 as a hidden tool using a JSON paste. This integration workflow provides administrators and instructors with the ability to enable the video platform on select courses.
JSON Integration within Canvas
- Access your institution's JSON string by entering the following URL into a new browser window: https://<INST_URL>/P/LTI/Canvas/CanvasLTI3Config.json
- Replace <INST_URL> with your zone URL.
- Example: https://hudson.yuja.com/P/LTI/Canvas/CanvasLTI3Config.json
- Copy the JSON string and paste it into a text editor such as Notepad.
- Under "course_navigation", add "default":"disabled", including the quotations and comma.
- In Canvas, under the Admin menu select the account you would like to add the JSON string to.
- Click on Developer Keys located on the Navigation Bar.
- Click Developer Keys on the top right of the screen, and then select LTI Key.
- Under the Method drop-down menu, select Paste JSON.
- Copy and past the edited JSON string into the space provided.
- Add a Key Name.
- Add a Redirect URL in the format of https://<YOUR_ORGANIZATION_YUJA_DOMAIN>/LTI3Entry.jsp
- Click Save.
Adding the YuJa Enterprise Video Platform to a Course
Once the integration is complete, the YuJa Enterprise Video Platform will be available as a hidden Navigation bar tool within a Canvas course and can be added manually added.
- Access the desired Canvas course and click on the Settings located on the Navigation bar.
- On the next page, click on Navigation from the course Settings menu.
- From the Navigation configuration, you can “drag” the YuJa LTI tool to the course's list of tools and links. Then click Save.
