This document provides instructions on how YuJa Lumina can be integrated into Canvas LTI 1.3 as a hidden tool using a JSON paste. This integration workflow provides administrators and instructors with the ability to enable the video platform on select courses.
Lumina's JSON Integration within Canvas
- Access your institution's JSON string by entering the following URL into a new browser window: https://<INST_URL>/P/LTI/Canvas/CanvasLTI3Config.json
- Replace <INST_URL> with your zone URL.
- Example: https://hudson.yuja.com/P/LTI/Canvas/CanvasLTI3Config.json
- Copy the JSON string and paste it into a text editor such as Notepad.
- Under "course_navigation", add "default":"disabled", including the quotations and comma.
- In Canvas, click Admin, and select the account you would like to add the JSON string to.
- Click Developer Keys > + Developer Key > + LTI key.
- Under the Method drop-down menu, select Paste JSON.
- Copy and past the edited JSON string under LTI 1.3 Configuration.
- Add a Key Name.
- Add a Redirect URL in the format of https://<YOUR_ORGANIZATION_YUJA_DOMAIN>/LTI3Entry.jsp
- Click Save.
- Enable the Developer Key State toggle.
- Click View in Canvas Apps. A new Canvas window will be opened.
- Click the pencil icon.
- Change the status to Available, then click Save.
Adding Lumina to a Course in Canvas
Once the integration is complete, the YuJa Lumina will be available as a hidden Navigation bar tool within a Canvas course and can be added manually added.
