YuJa Panorama offers both institutional and course settings. Whereas institutional settings help maintain consistency across courses, individual course settings are designed to help ensure that YuJa Panorama is configured optimally for a specific course.
Course Settings
The settings that are available for instructors to configure on a course-by-course basis include:
- Automatic Report Generation: When enabled, the platform will automatically begin to generate an Accessibility Report for files upon upload.
- Manually Dismiss Issues: When enabled, users can dismiss issues in a document's Accessibility Report to prevent them from being flagged in that specific report.
- File Replacement: When enabled, if YuJa Panorama is being used to apply changes to a file, the platform will also automatically replace the file in the LMS. If disabled, only the Accessibility Report and the Source File will be updated.
- HTML Replacement: When enabled, if Panorama is being used to apply changes to HTML content, the platform will also automatically replace the HTML content in the LMS. If disabled, only the Accessibility Report and the Source File will be updated.
- LMS Website Widget: When enabled, the Website Accessibility Widget will appear within the LMS. The Website Accessibility Widget allows users to adjust the content and color of their web pages to meet their learning needs. Learn more about the Website Accessibility Widget here.
- Accessibility Remediation: When enabled, instructors and admins can request document remediation from a YuJa Accessibility Specialist.
- PDF Font Size Remediation: When enabled, the platform will flag PDFs that contain small text for remediation, helping documents meet accessibility standards.
- Allow Instructors to Disable Alternative Formats: When enabled, instructors will find a visibility switch at the bottom of the Alternative Formats menu, allowing them to decide if students can view the alternative formats for that file. When disabled, the visibility switch will be hidden, and instructors will not be able to turn off alternative formats for students at the per-file level.
- Update Availability of Alternative Formats: When enabled, every hour, the platform will check the availability of alternative formats and then update them accordingly with the most recent file.
- Accessibility Icon in File Preview: When enabled, Panorama will display an icon that indicates a low, medium, or high accessibility score when previewing files in your LMS.
- Ignore Unpublished Content: When enabled, accessibility scans will ignore documents that are not published inside your LMS.
- Display Icons: When enabled, Panorama will display an icon that indicates a low, medium, or high accessibility score next to the content inside your LMS.
- Math Start/End Audio Notifiers: When enabled, the Math Audio Alternative Format will begin lines with “Math Start” and finish them with “Math End” to help users navigate the Math Audio.
- Treat Empty Alt Tags as Decorative Images: When enabled, Panorama will treat images without an alternative description as if they were marked as decorative. They will not be flagged as having an accessibility issue.
- WYSIWYG Accessibility Checker to Display: Configure whether the WYSIWYG editor displays the Panorama accessibility checker, the default LMS accessibility checker, both, or neither.
- Show Accessibility Score Banner on Course Homepage: When enabled, a banner will display on the course homepage, notifying instructors of their accessibility score and providing access to Panorama's quick remediation tools.
- Reprocess Course: This will reprocess all files, alternative formats, and accessibility reports from Panorama for this course. This will not affect any files in your LMS.
