You can use Structural Remediation on PDF documents in your learning management system (LMS). Adding elements to your PDF documents makes them more accessible for everyone, including people who use screen readers. These elements give your document structure and meaning, so it's easier to navigate, understand, and interact with.
Adding an Element Using Structural Remediation
- In the Accessibility Report for the document, locate the Structural Remediation banner and click Launch.
- Select the Elements tab, and then hover over the element you want to add to.
- Click the Add/Merge Elements button.
- In the document, click and drag either inside an existing element or an area that doesn't yet contain an element.
Note: Do not click and drag over multiple existing elements; they will merge. - In the Element Type drop-down menu, select the new element tag you want to use.
- In the Language drop-down menu, select the language of the element.
- Click the Save button. Your document will be updated.
Merging Elements Using Structural Remediation
You can merge elements in your PDF to create a more organized structure and make your content easier to navigate and understand.
- In the Accessibility Report for the document, locate the Structural Remediation banner and click Launch.
- Select the Elements tab, and then hover over the element you want to merge.
- Click the Add/Merge Elements button.
- In the document, click and drag two or more elements you want to merge.
- In the Element Type drop-down menu, select the new element tag you want to use.
- In the Language drop-down menu, select the language of the element.
- Click the Save button. Your document will be updated.
