Before starting a Verity-proctored assessment, your instructor may require you to disable specific browser extensions. If so, a window will display the detected browser extensions, and you must disable the listed browser extension(s) before you can begin the assessment.
Note: Do not disable the Verity Browser Extension.
Disabling a Chrome Browser Extension
Before starting a Verity-proctored assessment, you must disable detected Chrome browser extensions.
- Open Chrome.
- Click the Extensions button.
- Click Manage extensions.
- Locate the extension you want to disable.
- Disable the toggle. The toggle will turn gray to indicate the extension has been disabled.
- Repeat steps 4 to 5 for each extension you want to disable.
Disabling a Microsoft Edge Browser Extension
Before starting a Verity-proctored assessment, you must disable detected Microsoft Edge browser extensions.
- Open Microsoft Edge.
- Click the Extensions button.
- Click Manage extensions.
- Locate the extension you want to disable.
- Disable the toggle. The toggle will turn gray to indicate the extension has been disabled.
- Repeat steps 4 to 5 for each extension you want to disable.
Disabling a Brave Browser Extension
Before starting a Verity-proctored assessment, you must disable detected Brave browser extensions.
- Open Brave.
- Click the Extensions button.
- Click Manage extensions.
- Locate the extension you want to disable.
- Disable the toggle. The toggle will turn gray to indicate the extension has been disabled.
- Repeat steps 4 to 5 for each extension you want to disable.
Disabling a Opera Browser Extension
Before starting a Verity-proctored assessment, you must disable detected Opera browser extensions.
- Open Opera.
- Click the Extensions button.
- Click Manage extensions....
- Locate the extension you want to disable.
- Disable the toggle or click Disable. The toggle will turn light blue to indicate the extension has been disabled.
- Repeat steps 4 to 5 for each extension you want to disable.
