As an admin, you can use the RTMP (Real-time messaging protocol) live streaming to broadcast live events to thousands of viewers by connecting with a third-party live-streaming software.
Creating a Live Stream
To create an RTMP live stream, simply create an ingested stream in YuJa Lumina, then connect the stream to your streaming software.
- Log in to YuJa Lumina as an admin.

Click the Main Menu button, then click Admin Panel.
- In the sidebar, select RTMP Streams.

Click Create New Stream.
- Enter a title and description for your live stream.

Click Create.
Activating a Live Stream
Once a live stream is created, you can review its status, configure your live stream, and access the information required to connect it with the third-party streaming software.

Locate your live stream session, and click the Start Session button.
- Under Details, enter the required information:
- Title: Enter a title for your live stream session.
- Description: Enter a description for your live stream session.
- Owner: Select a session owner from the drop-down menu.
- Set Duration: Enter the length of the stream to indicate how long the session will last. You may set a Specified Duration or choose to stream Live 24/7.

Save Location: Select one location within My Media where the live stream will be saved.
- Under Additional Configurations, select the save and publish location for your live stream:
- Record Session: Toggle Record Session to archive your stream.
- Publish Location (Optional): Select multiple locations to publish the live stream. This includes saving to the VideoTube and CampusTube.
- Live Stream Location (Optional): Select multiple locations where the live stream can be viewed during streaming. This includes VideoTube. Once the live stream is over, it will no longer be available for review.
- Live Chat Security Restriction: To control who has access to the live chat, select Public, Platform Authentication, or Disable the chat entirely.
- Password or Authentication Restriction: Require your viewers to sign in before accessing the live stream.
- IP Range and Address Restriction: Limit stream access to viewers connecting from approved IP addresses or network ranges.
- Location Restriction: Limit stream access to viewers based on geographic regions or countries.

Domain Restriction: Specify which websites or domains are allowed to embed or play the live stream.

Click Create and Start Session to activate your live stream session. The status of your session will be changed to StandBy.
Connecting Live Stream with a Third-Party Software
Before connecting your live stream with your third-party software, you must create a live stream session in Lumina and activate it.

Locate your live stream session and Copy the Server URL and Stream Key. Then paste it into the corresponding field in your third-party software for integration. Learn more about integrating RTMP live stream into third-party streaming software.
- Once the RTMP live stream starts, you can:
- Click Preview to monitor the Live Stream.
- Click Stop to end the session.
- Click Delete to delete the live stream.
