After you have installed the Media Chooser Plugin within Blackboard, you can make it unavailable within node hierarchies of Blackboard. This allows you more granular control of what organizations, departments, and classes have availability to the Media Chooser.
Making the Media Chooser Plugin Available
A Blackboard node setting applies only the courses associated with the node itself, not all courses in the organization. While we will disable the Media Chooser within certain nodes in Section 2 below, we still want to create the foundation of installing the tool on an organizational level first.
- On the System Administration tab, under the Tools and Utilities section, click Tools.
- Scroll to the bottom of the list and find the YuJa Media Chooser tool installation.
- Turn the tools availability to ON for both the Course Tool and Department Tool availability.
- Select Submit.
- Select System Admin again, and under the Courses menu, click on Course Settings.
- On the next page, click on the Course Tools button.
- Scroll to the bottom of the list and find the YuJa Media Chooser tool installation.
- Ensure the Availability is set to On for New and existing courses.
- Click Submit.
Making the YuJa Media Chooser Unavailable within an Established Node
- On the System Administration tab, under the Communities section, click Institutional Hierarchy.
- Click on the Node that you wish to omit the YuJa Media Chooser from.
- Within the Node menu, click on Tools.
- Find the YuJa Media Chooser, and make sure the Course Tool Availability is set to OFF for New and existing courses.
- For verification, access the Blackboard course to confirm that the applicable Media Chooser is not available as a content Mashup.
