With the Software Capture for Apple application, users can adjust a variety of application settings and make them suitable for each person's workflow.
Accessing the Settings Menu for Software Capture for Apple Application
The Settings menu can be easily accessed from the Software Capture for Apple application in the top right corner of the screen.
Adjusting the General Settings
The General tab contains several behavioral settings for the Software Capture for Apple application.
- Below is the list of all the adjustable settings under the Generals tab.
- Autostart on startup: Automatically launch the Software Capture for Apple application once the user logs into the computer.
- Hide mini video action bar when recording: Hide the mini action bar on the bottom right corner of your screen during the recording.
- Minimize and hide when recording: Hide the Software Capture for Apple application's confidence monitor once the recording starts.
- Enable Adaptive Bitrate Streaming: Allow the recording bitrate to automatically adjust based on the user's internet strength during a live stream.
- Show audio in Recording Toolbar: Make the audio signal tracker a part of the mini action bar during the recording.
- Restore recommended recording settings: Revert all the settings to default.
- Days to keep the recording on this computer: Set a number of days to save the local recordings on the computer.
- Install/Uninstall YuJa Internal Audio package: Install or uninstall the YuJa Internal Audio package to record system audio from the computer.
- Click Save once done to apply all the changes.
Setting the Hotkeys
Under the Hotkeys tab, users can choose to set and use hotkeys to send any recording commands to the Software Capture for Apple application.
- Set the hotkeys for Start/Pause/Finish Recording command however the users desire.
- Select the Default button to revert all hotkeys to the default buttons.
- Click Save once done to apply all the changes.
Changing the Screen Capture Recording Resolution
The Screen Capture tab will allow users to set the recording resolution for their desktop screen recording.
- Click the Resolution dropdown menu to select the desired resolution setting.
- Click Save once done to apply all the changes.
Creating New or Modifying Existing Recording Profiles Settings
The Profiles tab will let users create new or modify their existing recording profiles.
- Click the pencil icon to create a new recording profile, or select an existing profile from the dropdown list and click the pencil icon to modify it.
- Select the desired Video, Audio, and Screen source for your recording profile.
- Click the preview icon to check whether the selected source is correct or not.
- Choose whether to notify the users within your Video Platform's Course channel once the recording finishes.
- Click Save once done to apply all the changes.
- Select a recording profile from the dropdown menu then click the Set Default button to make it the default recording profile on each startup.
