Inviting Users to Join a Course

With the Video Platform's Courses & Groups feature, a Course Owner will have the ability to invite individual users by their emails or by bulk importing a large group of users with a CSV file.

Inviting Users by Using Their Video Platform Account or Email Address

A Course Owner can invite other users to join their course on the Video Platform by using their Video Platform account or email address.

  1. Log in to the Video Platform as a Course Owner.
  2. Click on the Main Menu icon and select Courses & Groups.  From the top-right the main menu icon is clicked on and Courses & Groups is selected
  3. Choose the Course that you would like to invite another user into. 
    In the available courses menu located on the left side of the screen, a course is selected. Course owners, course members, and users invited are shown in three columns
  4. Click the Invite option. 
    Above the course owners, course members, and invited users column, the Invite button is located
  5. Invite an existing user in the Video Platform by typing in their names to search or typing in a user email to invite an external user.
  6. Select Send Invitations when done.

Inviting Users by Using CSV Import

A Course Owner also has the ability to invite a large group of users by simply importing a CSV file that contains the emails of all the users that need to be invited.

  1. Log in to the Video Platform as a Course Owner.
  2. Click on the Main Menu icon and select Courses & Groups. 
    From the top-right the main menu icon is clicked on and Courses & Groups is selected
  3. Choose the Course that you would like to invite users into. 
    In the available courses menu located on the left side of the screen, a course is selected. Course owners, course members, and users invited are shown in three columns 
  4. Click the Invite option. 
    Above the course owners, course members, and invited users column, the Invite button is located
  5. Select the Import Contacts option. 
    The invite people to join your course dialog box will appear. a hyperlink for import contacts is available to click on.
  6. Upload a CSV file that contains all the users' information that you want to invite. Download the sample CSV file to see which information is required. After you have uploaded your file, click on Next. 
    an Invite new members from spreadsheet dialog box will appear stating the following: Please upload a CSV file containing the email addresses of the people to invite. Any spreadsheet application such as Microsoft Excel will be able to Save As CSV. Under the text is the option to click on the click here hyperlink to download a sample CSV template to use. a choose file button is shown underneath. at the bottom-right of the box is the Next button
  7. Select Send Invitations when done.
    The next dialog box states the following: Sending invitations to the following addresses. It will then list the users being invited. the Send invitations buttons is located under the list of users.
