This document will provide instructions on how to locate local data stored on a user's computer. All data is stored locally, with the following data being stored on the server: channels the user is enrolled in, the saved location of media within the user's Media Library, and created profiles. This information is also saved locally within the cache folder.
How to Find and Recover Video Files
If your recording is not automatically uploaded to the Video Platform after a session or is stuck in processing, you can locate a saved version of the recording on your computer and upload your content manually.
- Open File Explorer, and select This PC from the left-side navigation menu.
- Go to the location where YuJa Software Capture is installed. The default location is: (C:)\Program Files\Users\Public\YuJa\YuJa\YuJa Software Capture\videos
- Locate your desired recording within the folder and manually upload it to the Video Platform.
Note: The default location for older versions of YSC (12.0.0.0 and earlier) is "Local Disc (C:)\Program Files (x86)\YuJa\YuJa Software Capture\videos".
How to Locate the Service & Session Logs
The following section will provide instructions on how to find the service and session logs on Windows.
Service Logs
Contains information and logs about YuJa Service.
- Open a new File Explorer menu, then go to This PC.
- Go to the location where the YuJa Software Capture is installed. The default location is: Local Disc (C:)\Program Files\Users\Public\YuJa\YuJa\YuJa Software Capture\logs
- The service logs will be available within the logs folder.
Note: The default location for older versions of YSC (12.0.0.0 and earlier) is "C:\Program Files (x86)\YuJa\YuJa Software Capture\logs".
Session Logs
Session logs record all activity on YSC.
- From the File Explorer search bar, type in %appdata%.
- Go into the YuJa/Software Capture folder.
- There will be two log files here named yss-client and yss-client-per-session
How to Locate YSC Local Computer Settings
This section will explain where to find saved YSC settings on your computer.
- From the File Explorer search bar, type in %LocalAppData%\yuja_presenter.
- If you'd like to clear all your user settings, delete all files within the yuja_presenter folder.
Clearing YSC Cache Files
If you're experiencing issues with YSC, such as the application not launching, you may delete the cache files to help resolve your issue.
- Open a new File Explorer menu, then go to This PC.
- Go to the location where the YuJa Software Capture is installed. The default location is Local Disc (C:)/Program Files/YuJa/YuJa Software Capture/cache.
- Highlight all files within the cache folder and right-click on a file and click delete to remove all cache files.
