The Video Platform enables you to configure downloading for YuJa software-captured content as well as manually uploaded media using tools available in the Media Details panel.
Accessing Download Options on the Software Capture Recordings
The download options for content created using the YuJa software capture application can be accessed through the Media Details panel.
- Navigate to Manage Media at the top of the screen.
- Mouse over the desired video and click on More....
- Choose Downloads from the left-side menu.
- You have a number of choices for your download, depending upon the type of media.
- Download Media: Choose the option to download Audio-Only Content or Audio and Video Content.
- Download SCORM 1.2: download a SCORM file.
Accessing Download Options on the Manually Uploaded Media
Content Creators can access download options for the manually uploaded media through the Media Details panel.
- Navigate to Manage Media at the top of the screen.
- Mouse over the desired video and click on More....
- Choose Downloads from the left-side menu.
- You have a number of choices for your download, depending upon the type of media.
- Download Media: download an mp4 copy of your video file.
- Download Original: download the original manually uploaded video file.
- Download Audio-Only Content: download an mp3 audio file of the video.
- Download HLS: download a m3u8 download.
- Download SCORM 1.2: download a SCORM file.
- Download With Caption: download an mp4 copy with burned in captions.
Enabling Downloads for an Individual Video
Administrators and Content Creators can choose to enable user downloads through the Media Details panel so Users can download the video through the Media Player or the Mobile Application.
- Click Enable under Allow Viewers to Download in Media Player to enable downloading from the Media Player.
- Choose Disable under Allow Viewers to Download in Media Player if you would prefer not to enable downloading from the Media Player.
- Choose Enable under Allow Viewers to Download in Mobile Apps to allow Users to download videos through the Mobile App.
- Choose Disable under Allow Viewers to Download in Mobile Apps if you would prefer not to enable User downloading through the Mobile App.
- Click Save Downloads to save your changes.
Enabling Downloads for All Videos in a Media Channel
Content Creators can also choose to enable Media Player or Mobile App for all media published to a Media Channel.
- Choose Courses & Groups from the Main Menu.
- Navigate to the desired Course.
- Choose Edit.
- Select Enable downloading of Media Channel videos and click Save to save your changes.
- Select Enable downloading of videos in Mobile Apps and click Save to save your changes.
Bulk Downloading Options
When using Bulk Media Management for downloads, you have the option to download the files within a single ZIP file or in a separate file format.
- Navigate to Manage Media at the top of the screen. Choose My Media or select the desired Channel.
- Select multiple video files one at a time by using ctrl-click on Windows or command-click on Mac. To select multiple files simultaneously, click and drag over the files you wish to download.
- Click More Actions at the top of the screen and click Bulk Download.
- You will then be prompted to select which media you would like to download and various options on how to download the media. Please see the list below for available download options.
- Choose Download Option: For multi-stream videos, the Single File option will download one video file that includes all the streams. Selecting Separate Files for a multi-stream video will download each stream as an individual video file.
- Download As: Selecting a Single ZIP File will give you access to a ZIP file containing all the selected media. Selecting Separate Links will provide you with a download link for each selected media item.
- Burn-in Caption: Select any captions to include in the downloaded video.
- Once you've selected your media files and adjusted your download settings, click Request Media. An email containing the links to download the requested media files will be sent to your email.
