RTMP (Real-time messaging protocol) ingestion with Zoom enables you to broadcast live events to tens of thousands of viewers. Use-cases include graduations, seminars, and sporting events.
Retrieving the Stream Server and Stream Key from the Video Platform
The first section summarizes the process of retrieving the proper Server and Key information from that will be later inserted into Zoom.
- Log in as an Administrator.
- Go to the Admin Panel and select the RTMP Live Streams menu.
- Once you have accessed the RTMP Live Streams menu, select Create Ingested Stream.
- In the window the appears, provide a Title and optional Description.
- Click Confirm to save the event.
Copying the Stream Keys from the Video Platform
Below are the steps to integrate the Stream URL and Stream Key into Zoom.
- After saving the event, find the event name under the RTMP Live Streams menu, and click on the pencil icon to the left of the stream name.
- Copy both the Server URL and Stream Key.
Inserting the Stream Keys from the Video Platform to Zoom
Once the stream has been configured in the Video Platform, the last step to complete the configuration is to copy the Stream Key, Server URL, and Watch Stream URL into Zoom.
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
- Click Meetings.
- Click Schedule a New Meeting and the required information to schedule a Zoom meeting.
- Click Save, then scroll down at the bottom of the page and click the Configure Live Stream Settings link.
- Copy and paste the Video Platform Stream URL, Stream Key, and Watch Stream URL.
- Select Save.
Distributing the Event
Once the integration is complete, you can utilize the Video Platform to advertise the event with the Watch Stream URL.
- Log back in as an Administrator.
- Go to the Admin Panel and select the RTMP Live Streams menu.
- Once you have accessed the RTMP Live Streams menu, click on the pencil icon again next to the event name.
- This will again display the RTMP Stream Details. To distribute the event to your audience, you can copy and paste either the Watch Stream URL, or the Embed Code.
