The Video Editor offers an index editor that provides users the ability to add, change, delete indexes, or alter the timestamp associated with an index. These features enable the Video Index headings to meet the needs of viewers and improve the ease of navigation. This is especially useful for organizing longer media recordings.
Editing Video Indexes
The Video Index is automatically generated based on the OCR(Optical Character Recognition) technology to pull text displayed on the media file.
- Hover over a media file that you would like to edit the video index for and click Edit to open up the Video Editor.
- Click the Advanced Mode button to enable the Index feature.
- Below is the list of available actions for editing the index.
- Update the index timestamps: Adjust the times for each index entry.
- Add an index entry: Add a new index entry based on the location of the media's seek bar by clicking on the button Add Index at mm:ss button.
- Delete an index entry: Remove any unwanted index entry by clicking on the Trash icon.
- Edit the title of each index entry: Change the index title to add chapters, correct wordings, etc.
- Adjust formatting to create an index structure: Change the index structure by selecting the dropdown items under Normal and No Indent.
- Once done, click the Save button at the top of the page to save all the new changes.
Changes will not impact the captions or transcript associated with the media file.
Add and Delete Video Indexes
Users have the ability to add and delete video indexes to create clear indicators for different portions of a media file.
- Remove unwanted index entries by selecting the Trash icon.
- Create additional index entries by selecting Add Index at mm:ss button.
- Entry will be created based on the location of the Media Player's seek bar.
- Select the Save button at the top of the page to save all the new changes.
Edit Index Titles and Create Index Structures
Users have the ability to add and delete video indexes to create clear indicators for different portions of a media file.
- Edit the index title by selecting the middle square and inputting the title of your choice.
- Change the view of an index by selecting the Normal dropdown menu and selecting Normal or Bold.
- Change the indentation of an index by selecting the No Indent dropdown and selecting No Indent, Single Indent, or Double Indent.
- Select the Save button at the top of the page to save all the new changes.
- Check for the changes you made by playing the edited media and selecting the Show Sidebar icon.
Additional Video Index Tools
Users have the additional ability to select through the index menu and Clear All indexes.
