Integrating the YuJa Enterprise Video Platform into D2L Brightspace using LTI 1.3

This document provides instructions on integrating the YuJa Enterprise Video Platform into your D2L Brightspace Learning Management System (LMS). If you have any questions regarding any steps in this process, please contact your dedicated Customer Success Manager.

Overview

The below steps will add the YuJa Enterprise Video Platform as an LTI tool that can be accessed within one or more of your D2L Brightspace courses.

Adding the YuJa Enterprise Video Platform to D2L Brightspace

The instructions below will allow users to add the YuJa Enterprise Video Platform to D2L Brightspace.

  1. Log in to D2L Brightspace as an admin.
  2. Click the Gear icon and choose Manage Extensibility. From that window, select LTI Advantage, then Register Tool.
  3. Enter the following information, then click Register.
    • Name: YuJa
    • Description: YuJa Enterprise Video
    • Domain: https://<YOUR_YUJA_DOMAIN>/LTI3Entry.jsp
    • Redirect URLs: https://<YOUR_YUJA_DOMAIN>/LTI3Entry.jsp
    • OpenID Connect Login URL: https://<YOUR_YUJA_DOMAIN>/LTI3LoginInit.jsp
    • Keyset URL: https://<YOUR_YUJA_DOMAIN>/P/Data/LTI3JwksJSONS
    • Extension: Check Assignment and Grade Services and Deep Linking
    • Roles: Check Send Institution Role
    • Substitution Parameters: 
      • Name: d2l_course_previous_context_ids
      • Value: $Context.id.history
    • Custom Parameters
      • Name: lti_login_id
      • Value: $User.username
  4. After clicking Register, copy down all the information below for later use, then click View Deployments. Note: you can click on the sheet icon below each value to copy the key information.
  5. Next, choose New Deployment and enter the following information.
    • Tool: Select the YuJa LTI Advantage tool from step 3.
    • Name: YuJa
    • Description: YuJa Enterprise Video
    • Extensions: Make sure Assignment and Grade Services and Deep Linking options are checked.
  6. Scroll down and check all the options shown below. Next, choose Add Org Units to select which courses you would like to make the YuJa Enterprise Video Platform available to, then click Create Deployment.

  7. Copy down the Deployment ID for later use, then click on View Links.
  8. Choose New Link and enter the following information, then click Save and Close.
    • Name: YuJa
    • URL: https://<YOUR_YUJA_DOMAIN>/LTI3Entry.jsp
    • Description: YuJa Enterprise Video
    • Type: Basic Launch
  9. Next, choose New Link again and enter the following information. Click Save and Close when done.
    • Name: YuJa Media Chooser
    • URL: https://<YOUR_YUJA_DOMAIN>/LTI3Entry.jsp
    • Description: YuJa Media Chooser
    • Type: Deep Linking Insert Stuff
  10. Finally, choose New Link one last time and enter the following information. Then click Save and Close when done.
    • Name: YuJa Media Chooser - Deep Link for Quizzes
    • URL: https://<YOUR_YUJA_DOMAIN>/LTI3Entry.jsp
    • Description: YuJa Media Chooser - Deep Link for Quizzes
    • Type: Deep Linking Quicklink

Integrating D2L Brightspace into the YuJa Enterprise Video Platform

With the YuJa Enterprise Video Platform set up in D2L Brightspace, the next step is to integrate D2L Brightspace into the YuJa Enterprise Video Platform.

  1. Log into the YuJa Enterprise Video Platform as an Admin then goes to the Admin Panel.
  2. From the left navigation menu, click on Integrations then choose LMS via LTI 1.3 under the Select an API to Configure dropdown list.
  3. Choose D2L for LMS. Under API Configuration, follow the instructions below to fill out the fields and click Save once you're done.
    • ISS: https://<YOUR_D2L_BRIGHTSPACE_DOMAIN>
      • There should be no slashes or special characters after the .com of the ISS.
    • Client ID: Obtained in Adding the YuJa Enterprise Video Platform to D2L Brightspace step 4.
    • OIDC Endpoint: https://<YOUR_D2L_BRIGHTSPACE_DOMAIN>/d2l/lti/authenticate
    • JWKS Endpoint: https://<YOUR_D2L_BRIGHTSPACE_DOMAIN>/d2l/.well-known/jwks
    • Outh2 Token: https://auth.brightspace.com/core/connect/token
    • Deployment ID: Obtained in step 7 of the section titled Adding the YuJa Enterprise Video Platform to D2L Brightspace.
  4. If your institution does NOT have a vanity URL, proceed to the next section of this guide. If your institution does have a vanity URL, click Add Configuration to add a second API configuration.
  5. Follow the instructions below, and click Save, located at the top of the page, once done.
    • ISS:
      • For Production instances: https://canvas.instructure.com
      • For Test instances: https://canvas.test.instructure.com or https://canvas.beta.instructure.com
    • Client ID: Obtained in Generating Canvas Developer Keys step 5.
    • OIDC Endpoint: https://<YOUR_CANVAS_VANITY_URL>/api/lti/authorize_redirect
    • JWKS Endpoint: https://<YOUR_CANVAS_VANITY_URL>/api/lti/security/jwks
    • Outh2 Token Endpoint: https://<YOUR_CANVAS_VANITY_URL>/login/oauth2/token
    • Deployment ID: Obtained in step 7 of the section titled Adding the YuJa Enterprise Video Platform to D2L Brightspace. If entering multiple Deployment IDs, separate each by a single comma. 
Note: When filling out the API Configuration fields, please ensure that there are no spelling mistakes, extra symbols, or spaces.

Adding the YuJa Enterprise Video Platform to D2L Brightspace Navbar

The instructions below will allow users to add the YuJa Enterprise Video Platform to D2L Brightspace Navbar for quick access.

  1. Log into D2L Brightspace as an Admin.
  2. Click the ... icon on the Navbar and choose Edit This Navbar.
  3. Next, choose Add Links, then Create Custom Link.
  4. Enter the following information, then click Create.
    • Name: YuJa
    • URL: Click Insert Quick Link, then choose External Learning Tools. Search and select the YuJa link that was set up previously.
    • Behavior: Same Window.
  5. Click Add to add YuJa to the Navbar option, then click Save and Close.
  6. The YuJa Enterprise Video Platform is now available for quick access through the D2L Brightspace Navbar.

Adding the YuJa Enterprise Video Platform as a QuickLink in D2L Brightspace Courses

The instructions below will allow users to add the YuJa Enterprise Video Platform as a QuickLink to any D2L Brightspace courses for quick access.

  1. Log into D2L Brightspace as an Admin and go to the desired course, then choose Content.
  2. Next, choose Existing Activities and select External Learning Tools.
  3. Search and select YuJa.

  4. Once done, the YuJa Enterprise Video Platform is now available as a QuickLink within the D2L Brightspace course.

Using the YuJa Media Chooser

With the YuJa Enterprise Video Platform set up, users will be able to use the YuJa Media Chooser to embed their videos in D2L Brightspace.

  1. Open the text editor in D2L Brightspace and choose Insert Stuff. Next, select YuJa Media Chooser.
  2. Once the YuJa Media Chooser opens, users will be able to select any video from their Media Library to embed in D2L Brightspace.
