Integrating Lumina into D2L Brightspace using LTI 1.3

As an admin, you can add YuJa Lumina as an LTI tool in D2L Brightspace to allow instructors and students to access it within D2L Brightspace. 

Registering Lumina in D2L Brightspace

1. Log in to D2L Brightspace as an admin.
2. Click the Settings button.
3. Under Organization Related, click Manage Extensibility.
   
4. On the top bar, click LTI Advantage.
5. Click Register Tool.
6. Enter the required information:
   • Name: YuJa
   • Description: YuJa Enterprise Video
   • Domain: https://<YOUR_YUJA_DOMAIN>/LTI3Entry.jsp
   • Redirect URLs: https://<YOUR_YUJA_DOMAIN>/LTI3Entry.jsp
   • OpenID Connect Login URL: https://<YOUR_YUJA_DOMAIN>/LTI3LoginInit.jsp
   • Keyset URL: https://<YOUR_YUJA_DOMAIN>/P/Data/LTI3JwksJSONS
   • Extension: Check Assignment, Grade Services, and Deep Linking
   • Roles: Check Send Institution Role
   • Substitution Parameters: 
     • Name: d2l_course_previous_context_ids
     • Value: $Context.id.history

   • Custom Parameters

     • Name: lti_login_id
     • Value: $User.username

     

7. Click Register.
8. Jot down all the Brightspace Registration Details. It will be used in the Integrating D2L Brightspace into Lumina section.
9. Click View Deployments. 
   

10. Click New Deployment and enter the information required.

    • Tool: Select the tool name entered in step 6.
    • Name: YuJa 
    • Description: YuJa Lumina
    • Extensions: Select Assignment and Grade Services and Deep Linking.

    

11. In the Security Settings field, select the required information:
    • Org Unit Information
    • User Information
      • Name
      • First Name
      • Middle Name
      • Last Name
    • Email
    • User ID
    • Username
    • Org Defined Id

    • Link Information

      • Title 
      • Description

      

12. Click Create Deployment.
13. Copy the Deployment Id. It will be used in the Integrating D2L Brightspace into Lumina section.
    
14. Click View Links.

15. Click New Link and enter the following information.

    • Name: YuJa
    • URL: https://<YOUR_YUJA_DOMAIN>/LTI3Entry.jsp
    • Description: YuJa Enterprise Video
    • Type: Basic Launch

    

16. Click Save and Close.

17. Next, click New Link again and enter the following information. 

    • Name: YuJa Media Chooser
    • URL: https://<YOUR_YUJA_DOMAIN>/LTI3Entry.jsp
    • Description: YuJa Media Chooser
    • Type: Deep Linking Insert Stuff

    

18. Click Save and Close.

19. Click New Link one last time and enter the following information.  

    • Name: YuJa Media Chooser - Deep Link for Quizzes
    • URL: https://<YOUR_YUJA_DOMAIN>/LTI3Entry.jsp
    • Description: YuJa Media Chooser - Deep Link for Quizzes
    • Type: Deep Linking Quicklink

    

20. Click Save and Close

Integrating D2L Brightspace into Lumina

Before continuing, make sure you have registered Lumina in D2L Brightspace.

Adding Lumina to the Navigation Menu

You can add Lumina to the navigation menu of your D2L Brightspace for easy access.

Adding Lumina as a QuickLink within Courses

You can add Lumina to courses within D2L Brightspace for easy access.

1. Log in to D2L Brightspace as an Admin and go to the desired course.
2. On the top bar, select Content.
   
3. Click Existing Activities > External Learning Tools.
   
4. Search and select YuJa Lumina.
    

Integrating the Media Chooser into D2L Brightspace

You can use the Media Chooser within the text editor in D2L Brightspace to insert media files and video quizzes. Note: By default, D2L Brightspace will assign 100 points to a video quiz when it's inserted. 

1. Open the content page that you want to embed Lumina videos in.
2. Open the text editor in D2L Brightspace and click the Insert Stuff icon.
3. Select YuJa Media Chooser.
4. Select the media file that you want to embed in your course content.
5. Click Insert Content.
6. Click Insert.
