Integrating YuJa Lumina into D2L Brightspace using LTI 1.3

As an admin, you can add YuJa Lumina as an LTI tool in D2L Brightspace to allow instructors and students to access it within D2L Brightspace. 

Before you start

Have your YuJa Lumina domain ready. If you are unclear about the domain of your institution's YuJa Lumina platform, please contact your Account Manager.

Registering YuJa Lumina in D2L Brightspace

  1. Log in to D2L Brightspace as an admin.
  2. In the top-right corner, click the Gear icon.
  3. Under Organization Related, click Manage Extensibility.

  4. On the top bar, click LTI Advantage.

  5. Click Register Tool.

  6. Under "How would you like to register your tool?", select Standard by clicking the radio button next to it. This will expand the registration form.

  7. Enter the required information:
    • Name: YuJa
    • Description: YuJa Lumina
    • Domain: https://<YOUR_YUJA_DOMAIN>/LTI3Entry.jsp
    • Redirect URLs: https://<YOUR_YUJA_DOMAIN>/LTI3Entry.jsp
    • OpenID Connect Login URL: https://<YOUR_YUJA_DOMAIN>/LTI3LoginInit.jsp
    • Keyset URL: https://<YOUR_YUJA_DOMAIN>/P/Data/LTI3JwksJSONS
    • Extension: Check Assignment and Grade Services.
    • Roles: Check Send Institution Role.
    • Click + Add Substitution Parameter.
    • Substitution Parameters:
      • Name: d2l_course_previous_context_ids
      • Value: $Context.id.history (select it from the drop-down menu)
    • Click + Add Custom Parameter.
    • Custom Parameters
      • Name: lti_login_id
      • Value: $User.username

  8. When you're finished, click Register.

  9. Copy all the Brightspace Registration Details that pop up in the modal. It will be used in the Integrating D2L Brightspace into YuJa Lumina section.
  10. Click View Deployments.

  11. Click New Deployment and enter the information required.
    • Tool: Select the tool name entered in step 7.
    • Name: YuJa
    • Description: YuJa Lumina

    • Extensions: Select Assignment and Grade Services.

  12. In the Security Settings field, select the required information:
    • User Information
      • Name
      • First Name
      • Middle Name
      • Last Name
    • Email
    • User ID
    • Username
    • Org Defined Id

  13. Click Create Deployment.

  14. Copy the Deployment Id. It will be used in the Integrating D2L Brightspace into YuJa Lumina section.

  15. Click View Links.
  16. Click New Link and enter the following information.
    • Name: YuJa
    • URL: https://<YOUR_YUJA_DOMAIN>/LTI3Entry.jsp
    • Description: YuJa Lumina
    • Type: Basic Launch

  17. Click Save and Close.

  18. The Save and Close button should redirect you back to the Links page. From there, click New Link again.

  19. Enter the following information to add the YuJa Media Chooser, which allows instructors to embed media directly into LMS pages, modules, discussions, and assignments.
    • Name: YuJa Media Chooser
    • URL: https://<YOUR_YUJA_DOMAIN>/LTI3Entry.jsp
    • Description: YuJa Media Chooser
    • Type: Deep Linking Insert Stuff

  20. Click Save and Close.

  21. After you're redirected to the Links page again, click New Link one last time.

  22. The YuJa Media Chooser deep link for quizzes enables instructors to add video quizzes directly into D2L Brightspace for an interactive way to test your students' knowledge and engagement with course media content. Enter the following information to add the deep link for quizzes:
    • Name: YuJa Media Chooser - Deep Link for Quizzes
    • URL: https://<YOUR_YUJA_DOMAIN>/LTI3Entry.jsp
    • Description: YuJa Media Chooser - Deep Link for Quizzes
    • Type: Deep Linking Quicklink

  23. Click Save and Close.

Integrating D2L Brightspace into YuJa Lumina

Before continuing, make sure you have registered YuJa Lumina in D2L Brightspace.

  1. Log in to YuJa Lumina as an Admin.
  2. Click the Main Menu button > Admin Panel.
  3. Hover over the sidebar, then select Integrations.
  4. From All Integrations, select D2L Brightspace.
  5. From the Choose Connection Method drop-down menu, select LTI 1.3.
  6. Under LTI Configuration, enter the information required:
    • ISS: https://<YOUR_D2L_BRIGHTSPACE_DOMAIN>
      • Note: There should be no slashes (/) or special characters after the ISS.
    • Client ID: Click Add, then enter the Client ID that was copied in step 9 of the Registering YuJa Lumina in D2L Brightspace section.
    • OIDC Endpoint: https://<YOUR_D2L_BRIGHTSPACE_DOMAIN>/d2l/lti/authenticate
    • JWKS Endpoint: https://<YOUR_D2L_BRIGHTSPACE_DOMAIN>/d2l/.well-known/jwks
    • OAuth2 Token Endpoint: https://auth.brightspace.com/core/connect/token

    • Deployment ID: Click Add, then enter the Deployment ID that was copied in step 14 of the Registering YuJa Lumina in D2L Brightspace section.

  7. If your institution has a vanity URL, click Add Configuration below Configuration #1 to add a second API configuration.
    Note: If your institution does NOT have a vanity URL, skip to the Adding YuJa Lumina to the navigation menu section.

  8. Enter the required information:
    • ISS: https://<YOUR_D2L_BRIGHTSPACE_VANITY_URL>
    • Client ID: Click Add, then enter the Client ID that was copied in step 9 of the Registering YuJa Lumina in D2L Brightspace section.
    • OIDC Endpoint: https://<YOUR_D2L_BRIGHTSPACE_VANITY_URL>/d2l/lti/authenticate
    • JWKS Endpoint: https://<YOUR_D2L_BRIGHTSPACE_VANITY_URL>/d2l/.well-known/jwks
    • OAuth2 Token Endpoint: https://auth.brightspace.com/core/connect/token
    • Deployment ID: Click Add, then enter the Deployment ID that was copied in step 14 of the Registering YuJa Lumina in D2L Brightspace section.

  9. Click Save changes.

Adding YuJa Lumina to the navigation menu

You can add YuJa Lumina to the navigation menu of your D2L Brightspace for easy access.

  1. Log in to D2L Brightspace as an Admin.

  2. On the top bar, click the More actions icon > Edit This Navbar.

  3. Next, click Add Links.

  4. In the Add Links window, click Create Custom Link.

  5. Enter the information required:

  7. Click Add to add YuJa Lumina to the navigation menu.

  8. Click Save and Close.

  9. You will now be able to see YuJa Lumina as an option in the navigation bar.
