As a creator, you can create different types of Lumina video quizzes, such as Multiple Choice, Select Multiple, Short Answer, True or False, Decision Point, Reflective Pauses, and Fill-In-The-Blank.
Multiple Choice Questions
You can create multiple-choice questions by entering several answer options and selecting one as the correct response.
- Log in to Lumina as an Admin.
- In the Video Quiz Editor page, click Add Question at the bottom of the video.
- Select Multiple Choice from the Type drop-down list.
- Enter the desired question and individual answer options.
- Select the correct answer to mark it as correct.
- Click Save to add the question to the quiz.
Select Multiple Questions
You can create Select Multiple questions by entering multiple answer options and selecting more than one correct response.
- Log in to Lumina as a creator.
- On the quiz editing page, click Add Question.
- Select Multiple Choice from the Type drop-down list.
- Enter the desired question and answer options.
- Select the checkboxes of the correct answers to mark them as correct.
- Click Add to add the question to the video.
Short Answer Questions
You can create short-answer questions that allow viewers to enter a short text-based response in a designated text box.
- Log in to Lumina as a creator.
- On the quiz editing page, click Add Question.
- Select Short Answer from the Type drop-down list.
- Enter the desired question and select Grading Options.
- Click Add to add the question to the video.
True or False Questions
- Log in to Lumina as a creator.
- On the quiz editing page, click Add Question.
- Select True or False from the Type drop-down list.
Note: You can modify the True and False options in the corresponding text field(s). - Enter a statement in the Question field.
- Select True or False to mark the correct answer.
- Click Add to add the question to the video.
The Reflective Pause
You can add a Reflective Pause to encourage deeper thought, reflection, or commentary on the video content. This is ideal when you're not seeking a specific answer but want to keep viewers engaged and thinking critically.
- Log in to Lumina as a creator.
- On the quiz editing page, click Add Question.
- Select Reflective Pause from the Type drop-down list.
- Enter the desired question or comment.
- Click Save to add the question to the video.
Decision Point Questions
You can create Decision Point questions to customize the video's progression based on the viewer's selected response. The video branches to different segments according to selected response, creating a non-linear, interactive experience.
- Log in to Lumina as a creator.
- On the quiz editing page, click Add Question.
- Select Decision Point from the Type drop-down list.
- Enter the desired question and possible options for the Decision Point question.
- Enter a Video Jump Point for each option and customize your option color if needed.
Note: A Video Jump Point is a timestamp within the video where the student will be redirected after making their selection. - (Optional) To link resources for students to access from your Media Library, click Choose and add your desired resources.
- Click Add to add the question to the video.
Make sure to add a Decision Point question near the end of the quiz and check the box "Use as ending decision" to allow the students to complete the question and submit the quiz.
Fill-in-the-blanks Questions
You can create Fill-in-the-Blank questions by omitting one or more words in a statement and providing answer options for users to fill in the blanks.
- Log in to Lumina as a creator.
- On the quiz editing page, click Add Question.
- Select Fill-In-The-Blank from the Type drop-down list.
- Enter the desired statement and click Blank to insert a blank.
- Enter the possible answer options. Select the checkbox Case Sensitive when you want to differentiate between uppercase and lowercase characters.
- Click Add to add the question the video.
