The Admin Panel's Organization tab allows admins to create Sub-Admin roles with specific rights and responsibilities. Sub-Admins have some Admin role privileges, limited to clearly defined parts of the Organization.
Creating a Sub-Admin Role
You will need access to the Organization tab to create a Sub-Admin role. If you do not see the tab, please contact your Client Success Manager.
- Log in to the Video Platform. Click the Main Menu icon and select Admin Panel.
- Select Organization from the left-side menu.
- Click on Create Sub-Admin at the top of the screen.
- Enter a Role Name for the Sub-Admin. For instance, all department chairs might be given sub-admin rights as Department Chair or all vice presidents as Vice President.
- Choose the desired Organization Level. Note: Please ensure you have created the Organization for the sub-admin.
- Next, by default, all Admin Panel tabs are available. You can disable tabs by selecting the ones you'd like to remove from the role and clicking the Disable button.
- You can enable additional features by clicking the Available Capabilities button.
- In the Disable Capabilities panel, choose the desired features and click Select.
- Caption Edit: Sub-Admins can be assigned to caption videos using the Video Editor.
- Publish VideoTube Featured Videos: Sub-Admins can publish videos to the Featured Videos folder in the Enterpise VideoTube.
- Once you're satisfied with your Sub-Admin role, click Save. You can then assign the role to users by following the next section of this guide.
Assigning Sub-Admin Roles
After creating a Sub-Admin role within the Organization tab, you may assign that role to one or more users on the Video Platform.
- Log in to the Video Platform. Click the Main Menu icon and select Admin Panel.
- Select Roster from the left-side menu.
- Locate the desired user in the roster list.
- Under the User Type column for the desired user, click on their current role.
- Use the drop-down menu to select their new Sub-Admin role.
- Finally, click on the Checkmark to save the role to the user.
