Integrating FeedbackFlow into Moodle using LTI 1.3

As an admin, you can connect the FeedbackFlow Platform with your Moodle Learning Management System (LMS) to make it available inside Moodle for creating, viewing, and grading video-based performance assessments.

Adding FeedbackFlow as an External Tool

  1. Log in to Moodle as an admin, and click Site administration.
  2. Select Plugins tab from the topbar.
  3. Under Activity modules, select External tool.

    The external tool option is located within the activity modules section.
     
  4. Click Manage tools.
    The Manage tools button is under the external tool category.
  5. Click Configure a tool manually.

  6. In the LTI Version field, select LTI 1.3.
  7. In the Public key type field, select Keyset URL.

  8. Enter the following information in these fields accordingly: 

    • Tool name: YuJa FeedbackFlow
    • Tool URL: https://<YourInstitutionURL>.yuja.com/InteractiveModuleLTI3Entry.jsp
    • Public keyset: https://<YourInstitutionURL>.yuja.com/P/Data/LTI3JwksJSONS
    • Initiate login URL: https://<YourInstitutionURL>.yuja.com/LTI3LoginInit.jsp
    • Redirection URI(s): https://<YourInstitutionURL>.yuja.com/InteractiveModuleLTI3Entry.jsp

  9. In the Custom Parameters field, enter each of the following parameters on a separate line:  
    • moodle_course_previous_context_ids=$Context.id.history
    • lti_login_id=$User.username
  10. In the Tool configuration usage field, select Show in activity chooser and as a preconfigured tool. 
  11. In the Default Launch Container field, select New Window and check the checkbox of Supports Deep Linking (Content-Item Message).The custom parameters, tool configuration usage, and default launch container fields under Tool settings section.
  12. Expand the Services section, and select the following settings:
    • IMS LTI Assignment and Grade Services: Use this service for grade sync and column management.
    • IMS LTI Names and Role Provisioning: Use this service to retrieve members' information as per privacy settings.
    • Tool settings: Use this service.
  13. Expand the Privacy section, and select the following settings:
    • Share launcher's name with tool: Always.
    • Share launcher's email with tool: Always.
    • Accept grades from the new tool: Always.
  14. Click Save Changes.

  15. In the Manage tools page, scroll down to the Tools section and locate your newly created tool.
  16. Click the View Configuration Details icon.

  17. In the Tool configuration details window, copy the details and send them to your Account Manager to complete the integration process.

Adding the FeedbackFlow LTI Link to a Moodle Course

  1. Log in to Moodle as an admin, and select the course you want to add FeedbackFlow to.
  2. Toggle on Edit mode next to your profile icon.
  3. Expand the section that you want to add FeedbackFlow to, then click + Add an activity or resource.
    The Edit mode is ON and the add activity option is highlighted.
  4. Select YuJa FeedbackFlow.
    The Feedbackflow tool is highlighed in the Add an activity or resource window.
  5. In the Activity name field, enter the name you want FeedbackFlow to be displayed in your course.
  6. Click Save and Return to Course.

Connecting Your Moodle Account to FeedbackFlow

After setting up FeedbackFlow in Moodle, you can connect your Moodle account with FeedbackFlow.

  1. Go to your course and select FeedbackFlow in the navbar.
  2. Within FeedbackFlow, click the arrow icon to expand the side navbar.

  3. Select Configuration.

  4. From the Select Integration drop-down menu, select Moodle.
  5. Fill out the required fields:
    • ISS: https://<YOUR_MOODLE_DOMAIN>
    • Client ID: Enter the client ID obtained earlier in the Adding YuJa FeedbackFlow to Moodle section.
    • OIDC Endpoint: https://<YOUR_MOODLE_DOMAIN>/mod/lti/auth.php
    • JWKS Endpoint: https://<YOUR_MOODLE_DOMAIN>/mod/lti/certs.php
    • Outh2 Token Endpoint: https://<YOUR_MOODLE_DOMAIN>/mod/lti/token.php
    • Deployment ID: Enter the deployment ID copied earlier. If entering multiple Deployment IDs, separate each by a single comma.
  6. Once you fill in all required fields, click Save Changes. You will then be able to access FeedbackFlow from your Moodle courses. The LTI 1.3 Integrations field of Moodle in FeedbackFlow.

Note: When filling out the API Configuration fields, please ensure that there are no spelling mistakes, extra symbols, or spaces.
