Admins can integrate SmartSpeaker into their Moodle Learning Management System (LMS). Before integrating SmartSpeaker, please ensure that you have full access to Moodle as an admin. If you have any questions about the steps in this guide, please contact your dedicated Account Manager.
Adding SmartSpeaker to Moodle
Before adding SmartSpeaker, please ensure you have received a Client ID from your Account Manager.
- Log in to Moodle as an administrator.
- In the top navbar, select Site administration > Plugins.
- In the Activity modules section, select Manage tools.
- Click configure a tool manually.
- Fill out the information as shown below, and then click Save changes.
- Tool name: SmartSpeaker 1.3

Tool URL: Based on your zone, enter one of the Tool URL.

Tool configuration usage for Moodle version 4.5 and later: Show in activity chooser and as a preconfigured tool
- Note: For Moodle versions lower than 4.5, choose your preferred Tool configuration usage.
- Default Launch Container: We recommend selecting New Window.
- Locate the newly created tool, and click the View Configuration Details button.
- Make note of the Tool configuration details. They will be required when adding SmartSpeaker to Moodle.
- Click Email.
- Log in to SmartSpeaker.
- In the side navbar, select Configurations > Integration Settings.
- In the Select Integration drop-down menu, select LTI 1.3.
- Enter the information as shown below.
- Client ID: The client ID that was copied in step 7.
- Deployment ID: The deployment ID that was copied in step 7.
- ISS: The Platform ID that was copied in step 7
- OIDC Endpoint: The Authentication request URL that was copied in step 7.
- JWKS Endpoint: The Public Keyset URL that was copied in step 7.
- Click Save Changes.
Adding SmartSpeaker to a Course
Once you have added SmartSpeaker to Moodle, you can add the SmartSpeaker LTI link to specific courses.
- Log in to Moodle and select your course.
- Turn on the Edit mode toggle.
- In the section you want to add Engage, click Add an activity or resource or + > Activity or resource.
- Select the Activities tab and then click SmartSpeaker.
- In the Activity name field, enter SmartSpeaker, or any identifiable name you wish to use.
- Click Save and return to course to add SmartSpeaker to the course.
