If you are unable to proceed with your proctored assessment in the Lockdown Module due to open applications, you can click the Force Quit All Applications button within the Verity pop-up modal to close your applications. If some applications remain open, you can manually close them using Task Manager on Windows or Activity Monitor on Mac before continuing the assessment.
Manually Closing an Application on Windows
Use Task Manager to force quit required apps manually on Windows.
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc on your keyboard to open Task Manager.
Note: If Task Manager opens in compact view, click More details at the bottom left. - In the Processes tab, scroll through the application list to locate the application you want to close.
- Click the application's name.
- Click the End task button in the bottom-right corner of the window. If a confirmation modal appears, click End task or Yes to confirm.
Note: Alternatively, you can right-click the application's name, then select End task from the right-click menu.
Manually Closing an Application on Mac
Use Activity Monitor to force quit required apps manually on Mac.
- Open Activity Monitor on your Mac device.
Note: You can search for it by clicking the Search icon on the top navbar. - Locate the application you want to close.
Note: You can use the top-right search bar to search for your desired application. - Click the application name.
- Click the X icon.
- Click Force Quit to close the application.
