Ensuring a correctly tagged structure in documents is important for accessibility tools such as screen readers to read content in the right reading order. With Structural Remediation, you can retag the whole document or only retag the elements within a selected zone in your document.
Retagging a PDF Document
This section will cover retagging all the elements in your file at once with Structural Remediation to improve the overall document accessibility. You can also retag the elements in a selected area instead.
- In the Accessibility Report for the document, locate the Structural Remediation banner and click Launch.
- Click Retag PDF.
- Click Retag again to confirm removing the current structure and generate a new tagged structure for your document.
Retagging Selected Elements with Retag Zone
When only a specific area of your file is flagged for accessibility issues, such as improper heading order or missing table headers, you can select that area to automatically retag the elements within it.
- In the Accessibility Report for the document, locate the Structural Remediation banner and click Launch.
- Click Retag Zone.
- Click and drag to select the desired area in the file to retag
Note: You can select more than one area in your file. - Click the Save button to retag the elements for your selected area.
