Accessibility Score Icons
Panorama will generate Accessibility Scores for the following document types uploaded to your courses: DOC, DOCX, PPT, PPTX, PDF, HTML, TXT, GIF, XLS, XLSX, ODT, ODP, ODS, RTF file types, and editable HTML pages.
- Accessibility Score icons are located next to each file type or along the top of HTML content and provide a quick at-a-glance summary of the Accessibility Score based on their default color. Your institution may adjust the icons and colors. The icons listed below are the default designs. Note: The icons can be disabled per course from the Panorama Platform's general settings.
- The blue circle is for student view.
- The green hexagon is for accessibility scores greater than 70%.
- The yellow triangle is for accessibility scores between 30% and 70%.
- The red octagon is for accessibility scores less than or equal to 30%.
- The grey prohibition sign is for documents with disabled alternative formats.
- The purple circle is if a document has not been scanned.
Understanding Accessibility Reports
Accessibility Reports provide comprehensive insights into specific areas where your documents can be enhanced, offering valuable guidance for improvement.

Locate your desired document, and click on the Accessibility Icon to open the Alternative Formats menu.

In the Alternative Formats menu, click on Accessibility Report.

The Accessibility Report offers various ways to resolve accessibility issues that have been identified under the Reviewed Issues list. Below is an overview of each method.
- PDF Remediation Engine Max (Add-On Required): provides in-line structural remediation to help fix a wide set of accessibility issues across PDF documents.
- AutoPilot (Add-On Required): Automatically proposes fixes for accessibility issues, which can be applied to your document immediately using the Panorama Remediation Engine.
- Fix Issue (Panorama's Remediation Engine): Manually add fixes for accessibility issues within the report, and then apply those changes to your document.
- How to Fix: Provides manual steps for updating the original document.
- Replace with Alternative Format: Replace the original document with an Alternative Format generated by Panorama.
Accessing Alternative Formats
Alternative Formats allow for the conversation of documents into a wide variety of accessible documents.
- Below is the list of available Alternative Formats. Note: To disable formats for a specific document, you can use the toggle at the bottom of the Alternative Formats Menu. Alternatively, you can adjust the settings for an entire course in the Panorama platform.
- Source File: View the document in its original format, which is suitable for download viewing.
- PDF: View the document in PDF format, which is suitable for online and download viewing.
- Text File: View the document in a pure text format without any formatting style, suitable for both online and download viewing.
- Immersive Reader: Allows for customizations to text preferences, grammar options, and reading preferences while following along with the audio playback.
- Gradient Reader: Enhances visual word recognition when reading by providing a guiding color gradient.
- EPUB: View the document in the ebook format, which is suitable for any ebook reader application.
- Braille: View the document in the braille grade 2 format, suitable for download viewing (a braille reader is required).
- Audio Podcast: Audio playback for documents, suitable for both online and download listening.
- Enhanced HTML: HTML documents can be displayed in a dedicated tab to customize the appearance of the document using the Website Accessibility tool.

OCR: Convert images with text into machine-encoded text that can be searched and read by screen readers.
- OCR Overlaid Tagged PDf: Generate a tagged PDF that allows for selectable text overlaid on the original document
- OCR Reconstructed DOCX: Generate a brand new DOCX file from scanned documents or images.
- OCR Reconstructed Tagged PDF: Generate a brand new tagged PDF from scanned documents or images.
- OCR Reconstructed HTML: Generate a brand new HTML file from scanned documents or images.
- OCR Text: Recommended for those who’d like plain text, the OCR tool will extract and display text within images and GIFs as a TXT file.
- OCR Immersive Reader: Use the Immersive Reader for OCR'd content.
- OCR Gradient Reader: generate a Semantically Structured Gradient Reader, which will analyze the content to produce an accurate representation of the file.
- OCR Audio: Extract text within images and GIFs into an MP3 text-to-speech audio player.
- OCR Semantic Text: Generate a text file of the document, preserving its HTML structure for tables, bullet points, headings, etc.
- OCR Semantic Audio: Generate audio, allowing you to hear details like rows, columns, and bullet points, providing an auditory representation of the visual format.

Math Formats: Convert documents containing math equations into LaTeX, Math Text (i.e. numbers and symbols to words), or MP3 files.
- Latex: Convert documents into LaTeX document format.
- Math Text: Convert documents into printed English, including numbers and symbols.
- Math Audio: Convert documents to MP3.
- MathML: Extract mathematical equations from documents and convert them into HTML files.
- Language Translation: Translate a document automatically into over 100 languages, which can be downloaded.
