Since all pages of a scanned PDF are images, screen readers cannot access the scanned pages.
Resolving the Document Is Scanned Issue
- Within the Accessibility Report, locate the issue "The document is scanned.".
- Click Fix Issue.
- Select a format to convert your scanned PDF to, and click Add Change.
Note: An OCR overlaid tagged PDF adds searchable text over the original scan, while an OCR reconstructed tagged PDF rebuilds the document for better readability and accessibility. - Under Update Document, click Apply Changes.
