Admins can map their custom Moodle roles to the Panorama platform. This can be done on an institutional level for all courses and external tools or on a per-course basis for only Panorama.
Custom Role Mapping for All External Tools
The steps below will enable custom role mapping for all external tools and courses on your Moodle instances.
- Log in to Moodle as an admin and click Site Administration.
- Select the Users tab.
- In the Permissions section, select Define roles.
- Locate the role you'd like to map and click on the Gear icon.
- Under Activity: External tool, check Launch external tool activities.
- Scroll down and click Save changes. Repeat steps 4-6 for any additional roles.
Custom Role Mapping on a Per-Course Basis
The steps below will only enable custom role mapping for Panorama on your desired course.
- Log in to Moodle as an admin, and navigate to the course for which you'd like to enable role mapping.
- Enable Edit Mode from the top right.
- Click the three vertical dots next to the Panorama link.
- Select Edit Settings.
- Click More.
- Select Permissions.
- Under Activity: External tool, locate Launch external tool activities, and click the Plus icon.
- Add your desired roles to the external tool activities to complete the process.
