You can save an element's custom color, spacing, and sizing. The saved elements can then be grouped into custom themes that can be used to create new designs.
Creating a Custom Theme
- Log in to your learning management system (LMS). In this example, we'll be using Canvas.
- Navigate to an editable HTML area.
- Select the LMS Content Designer button.
- Select the Theme tab.
- Click + Create Theme.
- Enter a name for your theme.
- Select one of the publish locations below.
- Institution: The template will be available to everyone in the institution.
- Course: The template will be available to everyone in the course.
- My Theme: The template will only be available to you.
- Select an element. A list of element settings will appear.
- Configure each element setting. The preview will update to reflect the changes.
- Click Save Element to add it to your list of Theme elements.
- Repeat steps 8 to 10 for each element.
- Click Save & Publish to save your elements as a Theme.
- Click the Theme tab > Custom Themes or Color Themes to locate the theme you want to use.
- Select the radio button for the theme you want to use.
- (Optional) Click the More action button to access the actions below.
- Preview: View a preview of the elements with the theme applied.
- Edit: Make adjustments to the theme.
Note: Instructors cannot edit Institution Themes. - Delete: Permanently delete the theme.
