Verity ensures the integrity of assessments taken from remote locations through the use of advanced proctor settings instructors or assessment administrators can enable. The table below lists all proctor settings available for use.
Proctor Settings
Some proctor settings, if enabled, contain Strict Mode, which will prevent students from continuing their assessment or allow you to add exceptions to the setting. Additionally, some settings are only available if instructors or assessment administrators require the assessment to be taken inside the Lockdown App.
| Setting | Description |
| Record Video | Record the students' remote environment through their webcam. If Strict Mode is enabled, students will be unable to continue their assessment if their webcam disconnects during the session. |
| Record Audio | Record the student's audio through their connected microphone, and any loud audio disturbances, such as speaking, will be flagged. If Strict Mode is enabled, students will be unable to continue their assessment if their recording device disconnects during the session. |
| ID Verification | Students will be required to take a photo of their ID and face for AI facial verification. |
| Record Web Traffic | Websites visited during the assessment will be recorded. |
| Only One Screen | Students can only have one monitor connected. If Strict Mode is enabled, students will be unable to continue their assessment if a secondary monitor has been connected. |
| Disable New Tabs | Once the assessment starts, opening new tabs will be prohibited. However, a list of approved URLs can be set up to grant access to certain websites. |
| Close Open Tabs | Once the assessment starts, all opened tabs will close. However, a list of approved URLs can be set up to grant access to certain websites. |
| Disable Clipboard | Clipboard functionality is disabled, and any copy or paste attempts are flagged. |
| Verity Recording Panel | The Verity Recording Panel offers students a preview of their webcam and access to the YuJa Help Center during their assessment. |
| Lockdown App Settings | |
| Hide Other Window | Students will only be able to view the Lockdown App on their devices. All other applications will be hidden from view. |
| Record Clipboard | Records items copied to the clipboard. |
| Record Keyboard | Records all keyboard inputs during the assessment. If enabled, custom keyboard shortcuts can be disabled. |
| Disable Spellcheck | The browser's spellcheck functionality will be disabled. |
| Disable File Download | Students will be unable to download files and images. |
| Block Virtual Applications | Specified desktop applications can be blocked from running. |
| Block Virtual Machines | Students will be unable to take their assessment inside a virtual machine. |
