To join a Standalone Proctored Assessment, you will either need to download the Verity browser extension, or if the institution requires you to, you will need to download the Lockdown App. The email you receive to join the assessment will provide you with information on which tool is required. The following steps will help you join a Standalone Proctored Assessment with the Verity browser extension.
Downloading the Verity Browser Extension
Before joining the Standalone Proctored Assessment, you must first download the Verity browser extension.
- Open the email you have received inviting you to join the proctored assessment.
- Click Install the Verity Browser Extension to download the link from your browser's web store.
- Once the extension has been downloaded, please proceed to join the assessment.
Joining the Standalone Proctored Assessment
After downloading the Verity browser extension, please follow the steps below to join the assessment.
- Open the email you have received inviting you to join the proctored assessment.
- Before proceeding further, please ensure you read the Additional Information section in case the institution requires any extra steps before you begin the assessment.
- Next, click the Assessment Link provided.
- Enter the information as shown below.
- First Name: Enter your first name.
- Last Name: Enter your last name.
- Access Code: Copy the access code provided in the email and paste it here.
- Once the information has been filled, click Start Assessment.
- Verity will apply the General restrictions the institution has set. Please resolve any outstanding requirements, and then click Next.
- You will be required to confirm your camera and microphone selection. Use the drop-down menus to adjust the default selections if desired, and then click Confirm.
- Next, select the screen you will be taking your assessment on.
- Check Share system audio.
- Then click Share.
- Click Next.
- If ID Verification has been enabled, you will need to hold up your institution or government-issued ID card to the webcam. Ensure the card is centered and wait for Verity to automatically scan the card.
- Note: If your ID card is unable to be identified, select VERIFY MANUALLY to capture and upload your ID card.
- Next, position the front of your face to the webcam and wait for Verity to detect your face.
- Note: If your face is unable to be identified, select VERIFY MANUALLY to capture and upload an image of your face.
- Click Next.
- Click Begin Assessment.
- On the next page, carefully read any additional instructions and click on the link provided by the institution to access your assessment. Good luck!
