Instructors can use YuJa Verity to establish a secure, proctored environment for assessments created in third-party assessment tools. Note: For Canvas users, Verity supports embedding Pearson and Aleks assessments as assignments. To learn more, please visit our guide on Embedding a Proctored Third-Party Assessment in Canvas.
Applying Proctor Settings for a Third-Party Assessment
Before proceeding with the steps below, please ensure that you've created an assessment using a third-party tool.
- Log in to your Learning Management System (i.e. Blackboard, Canvas, D2L Brightspace, or Moodle), and navigate to the Verity LTI app. Important: Please ensure you have authenticated yourself on the Verity LTI app.
- Within the Automated Proctoring page, select the Automated Assessments tab.
- Click Add Third-Party Assessment.
- Enter the information below and click Submit.
- Assessment Name: The name of your assessment.
- Assessment URL: The assessment link provided by the third-party tool.
- Assessment Password: Enter a password of your choice.
- In the Setup Proctoring modal, click Next.
- Select the platform you'd like to enable and click Next. Note: If you have an existing proctoring profile that you'd like to apply, you may do so by selecting the Click here link.
- Automated Proctoring: Offers standard proctoring features through the Verity browser extension within compatible browsers. This mode may also be used within the Lockdown App.

Lockdown App: Offers additional security features that can be applied to safeguard the integrity of assessments.
- Mobile Lockdown App: If selected, only standard proctoring features will be available to allow assessments to be taken on the Verity Mobile App.

Select which configurations you would like enabled and click Next to continue. For more information on Verity's configurations, please refer to our guide on YuJa Verity's Quiz Restrictions.
- Select your desired proctoring method and click Next to continue.
- Automated Proctoring (No Live): Test-takers will not be monitored during their assessment.
- Live Check-In: Proctors can join and view a test-taker's environment when issues are flagged. This additional add-on feature will only be available upon your institution's request.
- If necessary, you can allow individual students to take the assessment without being proctored by selecting the Plus icon next to their name and then click Next to continue.

Optional: You may also choose to apply a specific proctoring profile to exempted students by selecting the three vertical dots and clicking Apply Profile.

- Finally, review your settings and click Confirm. Once assessments are completed, you can review them by accessing the Verity Results table. Tip: To save these settings for future assessments, click Save as Profile.
