The Software Capture for Apple application allows users to create recordings directly from their personal Apple computers. The Software Capture for Apple application supports capturing video and audio from both built-in sources as well as connected external sources.
Downloading the Software Capture for Apple Application
The Software Capture for Apple application is available for any user to download from their personal YuJa account.
- Log into the Video Platform.
- Click on Create Recording located at the top of your screen. Then, select the Download option.
- Run and install the Software Capture for Apple application installer.
Logging into the Software Capture for Apple Application
The Software Capture for Apple application supports a wide variety of methods that allow the users to log in. Users can log in by using either their Organization's Single Sign-on (SSO), YuJa credentials, or through their Organization Learning Management System (LMS).
- Launch the Software Capture for Apple application.
- To search for your Organization, type in either your Organization's name or your Organization-issued email address.
- Log in to the Software Capture for Apple application with your Organization's credentials if SSO is set up, otherwise login using your YuJa credentials.
- Choose the Remember Username option to quickly log into the Software Capture for Apple application the next time.
Enabling Recording Permissions for the Software Capture for Apple Application
In order to access all the recording devices, users will need to enable recording permission for the Software Capture for Apple application.
- Launch the Software Capture for Apple application and log in.
- Enable permissions for Video, Audio, and Screen recording from the permission window.
- Once done, click Continue to proceed with the Software Capture for Apple application.
- These recording permissions can also be enabled in System Preferences > Security & Privacy.
Modifying Recording Settings for the Software Capture for Apple Application
The Software Capture for Apple application allows users to modify a variety of settings for their sources.
- Launch the Software Capture for Apple application and log in.
- Edit the details of your recordings.
- Title: Enter a title for your recording.
- Description: Enter a description for your recording.
- Modify the recording settings from the side menu before starting to fit your need.
- Video: Select up to two webcam sources, either external or built-in, for your recording. You can also choose to disable them altogether.
- Audio: Select up to two audio sources, either external, built-in, or internal audio source for your recording. You can also choose to disable them altogether.
- Screen: Select up to two screen sources, either external or built-in. You can also choose to disable them altogether.
- Live: Toggle On/Off to make the recording session live streaming. This is set to Off by default.
Users will need at least one valid recording source enabled, either Video, Audio, or Screen, in order to start a new recording.
Starting a New Software Capture for Apple Application Recording
Once the users are satisfied with their recording settings, they can go ahead and start a new recording.
- Launch the Software Capture for Apple application and log in.
- Modify the recording settings to your need.
- Click the Start button to start a new recording.
- While the recording is in session, the users can control these two options from the mini action bar.
- Pause/Resume: Pause the recording and resume it later.
- Finish: Stop the recording altogether.
- Once the recording is done, the users can choose to whether save the recording or delete it.
- If the users opt to save the recording, it will automatically be uploaded to their online YuJa account.
- The users can check for their upload progress from the upload status window at the bottom right corner of their screens.
