The Immersive Reader lets you listen to your file or course content, while also offering customization options such as text preferences, grammar tools, and reading settings.
Using the Immersive Reader
- Go to the Alternative Formats Menu of your file.

Click Immersive Reader to generate the immersive reader format of your file.
- Once it has been processed, click View.
- (Optional) Click the Settings icon to select your preferred voice speed and selection.
- Click the Play icon to start playing content from the beginning.
- To start playing from a specific point, click the word you want the Immersive Reader to start from, then click the Play icon.
- To play an individual word, click on the word and then click the Play icon below it.
Customizing the Text Preferences
You can adjust the text size, spacing, font, and theme shown on the immersive reader for a more tailored reading experience.
- Within the immersive reader, click the Aa icon to open the Text Preferences panel.

Adjust the Text Preferences options accordingly:

Text Size: Adjust the font size of the text.

Increase Spacing: Enable it to increase the spacing between letters and words.

Font: Choose a font between Inter, Calibri, Times, and Monospace.

Themes: Select a background color for the text. Click Show More to expand the theme options.

Customizing the Grammar Preferences
You can enable the syllables display and part-of-speech labels on the immersive reader to understand the context more easily.
- Within the immersive reader, click the Three-Line icon to open the Grammar Preferences panel.

Adjust the Grammar Preferences options accordingly:

Syl•la•bles: Enable it to divide words into syllables.

Parts of Speech: Enable the highlighting of nouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs within the text. To view the part of speech labels on hover, enable Show Parts of Speech Labels.

Customizing the Reading Preferences
You can enable the line focus and translations on the immersive reader to understand the context more easily.
- Within the immersive reader, click the Bookmark icon to open the Reading Preferences panel.

Line Focus: Enable it to focus on specific areas of the text.

Translate: Translate the entire document into over 100 languages.
